THREAD OF FATE
CHAPTER 10
Monday morning dawned bright and sunny, and Liza's excitement was palpable. She had been waiting for this day for what felt like an eternity – her first day at Williams Fashion Home. As she sat down to a hearty breakfast, courtesy of her dad, her brother Jayden couldn't resist teasing her.
"Hey, William Fashionist!" he chimed, chuckling at his own joke.
Liza playfully rolled her eyes, her smile never wavering. "Shut up, Jayden!" she laughed, tossing a mock-glare in his direction.
Her dad, beaming with pride, handed her a lunchbox. "Have a great first day, sweetie. We're all rooting for you."
With a final goodbye, Liza headed out the door, her heart racing with anticipation. As she arrived at the office, she was greeted by a friendly secretary, Diana, who welcomed her warmly.
Diana led the group of new employees on a whirlwind tour of the office, introducing them to various team members along the way. When they arrived at Tylor's office, Liza's eyes widened in surprise.
The secretary's voice was smooth as silk. "And this is our senior director, Mr. Tylor."
Liza's jaw dropped as she took in the sight of Tylor, resplendent in a tailored suit, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. The same person who had spilled coffee all over her clothes just a few days ago.
Tylor's smile was warm as he began the introductions. "Everyone, I'd like you to meet Sonia. She'll be working as a manager here, and she's also a good friend of mine. I hope we can all work together as a team."
As the introductions drew to a close, Liza found herself gravitating toward Diana, who was busy fielding questions from the other new employees.
"Excuse me, Diana," Liza said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Do you remember me? You're the one who gave me the new clothes on my interview day."
Diana's face lit up with a warm smile. "Of course, I remember you! The one with coffee clothes,”she giggled.
Liza's eyes locked onto Diana's. "Was it...Mr. Tylor who asked you to give me the clothes?"
Diana nodded, her expression neutral. "Yes, that's correct."
Liza's mind was racing as she returned to her seat. Why would Tylor ask Diana to give her clothes? And why hadn't he mentioned it when they met again? The questions swirled in her head like a vortex.
Meanwhile, Sonia's eyes narrowed as she observed Tylor's gaze lingering on Liza. She felt a pang of unease, her mind racing with possibilities. No one was going to marry Tylor except her. She was determined to make sure of it.
