THREAD OF FATE
CHAPTER 32
On a Monday morning at Williams Fashion Home, the staff returned to work after the weekend holiday. Everyone was busy with their daily routines. Tylor entered the sewing and styling department, greeting everyone with a warm smile. The staff responded in kind, except for Sonia, who eyed Tylor with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
Sonia had been harboring feelings for Tylor for a while and couldn't help but notice the way he looked at Liza. She felt a pang of jealousy and decided to intervene, attempting to divert Tylor's attention back to her. "Hey Tylor, what do you have for your friend this morning?" Sonia asked, her voice laced with a hint of flirtation.
Tylor, oblivious to Sonia's intentions, smiled and replied, "I have goodies," he said jokingly. Sonia, still trying to gauge Liza's reaction, said, "I'm coming to your office for them." Liza, engrossed in her work, didn't even flinch, much to Sonia's dismay.
Tylor, noticing Liza's focus, called out to her, "Miss Liza, I guess the work is much, seeing how focused you are." Liza looked up, smiled, and replied, "I need to do my best; this is where I get my salary." Tylor asked Liza to see him in his office once she finished her tasks, and Liza agreed, exchanging a brief glance with her colleagues before responding, "Yes, sir."
Sonia's curiosity was piqued, and she wondered what Tylor wanted with Liza. She thought to herself, "What's going on between these two? Hope it's not what I think. Are they in a relationship already?"
Tylor left the department, and Sonia returned to her workstation, still lost in thought. As she sat down, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. On his way to his office, Tylor encountered his father's secretary, who informed him that the chairman wanted to see him. Tylor followed the secretary to the chairman's office, where he was greeted by his father's warm smile.
The chairman asked Tylor how he was doing, and Tylor replied, "Fine." However, the chairman noticed that Tylor seemed distant and asked where he had spent the night. Tylor responded curtly, "Why do you care?" The chairman apologized for slapping him the previous day, explaining that he only wanted the best for Tylor.
Tylor removed his hand from his father's grasp, his eyes flashing with determination. "Remember, this is about me. I'm not going to trade my happiness for this family. I won't walk in the same shoes as you and Mom." The chairman's expression turned stern, but he controlled his emotions, not wanting to provoke Tylor further.
The chairman told Tylor that they would discuss the matter another time and asked him to return home, as his grandmother had been worried sick about him. Tylor refused, saying he would leave the hotel when he felt like it. The chairman begged him to reconsider, citing his grandmother's concerns.
Tylor stood firm, citing his work commitments. As he left his father's office, he couldn't help but think of Liza. After a few hours, Liza arrived at his office, knocking gently before entering.
Tylor's face lit up with a warm smile as he greeted her, "How are you, damsel?" Liza smiled back, "I'm good, just finished my work." She approached Tylor's desk, her eyes locking onto his, and asked, "Hope you're fine? You look worried." Tylor's expression softened, and he replied, "I'm fine, just a slight headache." Liza's hand instinctively reached out to touch his forehead, and as she did, Tylor drew her closer, his lips brushing against hers in a gentle kiss.
Liza, taken aback by the sudden display of affection, whispered, "We're in the office." Tylor smiled mischievously, "This is my office." Liza tried to release herself from his grasp, but Tylor held her close, his eyes burning with desire.
Just then, Sonia stepped into the office without knocking, her eyes widening in shock as she took in the scene before her. Tylor and Liza quickly released each other, their faces flushed with embarrassment.
Liza, feeling uneasy, told Tylor she would see him later and quickly left the office, leaving Sonia and Tylor alone.
Sonia's expression turned icy, her voice dripping with malice. "What's going on between you two?" she asked, her eyes narrowing in anger.
Tylor, still trying to compose himself, replied, "Sonia, Liza and I are dating. I was planning to tell you soon. Sonia's face fell, her eyes widening in shock. "You mean you and Liza are dating? Since when?" Tylor explained that they had started dating a few days ago, and Sonia's expression grew increasingly dark.
Tylor told Sonia that she should be kind to Liza, as she was now his girlfriend. Sonia forced a smile, trying to conceal her true feelings. "Tylor, you mean you're dating someone like Liza? I'm sure your parents won't approve."
Tylor's expression turned firm. "I love Liza, and that's all that matters. I'll tell my parents when the time is right." Sonia's anger boiled over, but she managed to keep her cool, pretending to be happy for the couple.
As Sonia left Tylor's office, she couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal. She had been harboring feelings for Tylor for so long, and now he was dating someone else. Sonia's mind raced with thoughts of revenge and sabotage, determined to destroy Tylor and Liza's relationship.
Meanwhile, Liza returned to her workstation, her heart still racing from the encounter with Tylor. She couldn't believe how much she had grown to care for him in such a short time. As she sat down, Sonia approached her, a fake smile plastered on her face.
Sonia asked Liza if it was true that she was dating Tylor. Liza replied, "Yes, we are dating." Sonia's expression turned cold, her voice dripping with malice. "I'll advise you to leave Tylor alone. You're about to enter big trouble if Tylor's family finds out about you two."
Liza stood her ground, her eyes flashing with defiance. "I can handle my own problems, thank you." Sonia's face twisted in anger, but she managed to keep her cool, knowing that she had to bide her time before making her next move.
