THREAD OF FATE CHAPTER 12 The morning sunlight streaming through the office windows cast a warm glow over the bustling fashion department. Tylor, dressed in a crisp, tailored suit, strode confidently into the room, his eyes scanning the space until they landed on Liza. Liza, looking radiant in a bright yellow sundress, flashed Tylor a warm smile as he approached. "Good morning, Mr. Tylor!" she chimed, her voice like music. Tylor's face lit up with a genuine smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Good morning, Liza! You look lovely today." Just as it seemed like Tylor and Liza were about to launch into a conversation, Sonia swept into the room, her presence commanding attention. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she took in the scene before her – Tylor and Liza chatting like old friends. Liza, oblivious to the sudden tension, turned to Tylor and said, "Thank you so much for the beautiful clothes, Mr. Tylor. They're absolutely stunning." Tylor's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Who told you I sent them?" he asked, his curiosity piqued. Liza's smile was mischievous. "When I saw the lady who gave me the clothes was your secretary, my instinct told me it was from you." Tylor chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Wow, you're welcome! I'm glad you liked them." Sonia, who had been watching the exchange with growing unease, suddenly cut in, her voice crisp and authoritative. "Liza, we have some new products that need to be sorted out in the store. Can you take care of that for me?" Liza's face fell slightly, but she nodded and smiled. "Of course, Miss Sonia. I'll get right on it." As Liza hurried out of the room, Sonia turned to Tylor, her eyes flashing with a hint of annoyance. Tylor, sensing the tension, smiled warmly and asked, "Sonia, how are you doing today?" Sonia's expression turned wry, her voice tinged with a hint of sarcasm. "Are you just noticing me? You were so engrossed in your conversation with Liza that you didn't even see me come in. Anyway, I'm fine." Tylor's face fell, and he apologized profusely. "Sonia, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you." Sonia's smile was forgiving, but her eyes still held a hint of wariness. "It's okay, Tylor. As they chatted, Sonia casually asked Tylor if he'd like to hang out later that evening. Tylor, however, hesitated, his expression apologetic. "I'm sorry, Sonia. I have other plans tonight. Maybe some other time?" he suggested, his voice gentle. Sonia's smile was gracious, but her eyes betrayed a flicker of disappointment. "No problem, Tylor. Maybe some other time." As Tylor bid Sonia farewell and left her office, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he might have somehow hurt her feelings by declining her offer to hang out with him. Little did he know that Sonia's feelings for him went far beyond friendship, and his rejection had only added fuel to the fire.
