THREAD OF FATE
CHAPTER 18
It was a beautiful Tuesday morning at Williams Fashion Home, with the sun shining brightly through the windows. The atmosphere was bustling with activity as everyone worked diligently on their respective tasks.
Just then, the grandmother of the Williams family, Vivian, walked into the office. She was a stately woman with a kind face and a warm smile. Vivian was known for her exceptional taste in fashion, and her visits to the office were always highly anticipated.
As Vivian made her way through the office, she stopped by the sewing and styling department. She watched with interest as Liza explained the intricacies of her design to her assistants. Vivian was impressed by Liza's attention to detail and her passion for her work.
After observing for a while, Vivian cleared her throat to get Liza's attention. Liza looked up, startled, and Vivian smiled warmly at her.
"Hello there, young lady," Vivian said. "I couldn't help but notice how beautifully you're explaining those designs. You have a real talent for this."
Liza blushed, feeling a sense of pride. "Thank you, ma'am," she replied.
Vivian's eyes sparkled with delight. "I'm Vivian, the founder of Williams Fashion Home and the grandmother of the Williams family. And you are...?"
"I'm Liza Smith," Liza replied, smiling.
Vivian's face lit up with a warm smile. "That's a lovely name, Liza. You're not only talented, but you're also beautiful. Keep up the fantastic work."
Just then, Sonia walked into the room, and her eyes widened in surprise as she took in the scene before her. She had seen Vivian's picture in magazines and on Tylor's phone, and she recognized her immediately.
Sonia quickly composed herself and greeted Vivian with a bright smile. "Hello, Mrs. Vivian. It's an honor to meet you."
Vivian smiled warmly at Sonia. "Hello, dear. You work here too?"
Sonia nodded, still smiling. "Yes, I'm the manager of this department."
Vivian's eyes sparkled with interest. "That's wonderful. I'm glad to see young, talented people like you and Liza working here."
As Vivian prepared to leave, she turned to Liza with a warm smile. "It was lovely meeting you, Liza. my new friend, and I would love to see you again soon. Take care, dear."
Liza smiled back at Vivian, feeling a sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Mrs. Vivian. It was lovely meeting you too."
As Vivian bid everyone farewell and continued on her way, Sonia's expression turned sour. She couldn't believe that Vivian had taken such a liking to Liza. Sonia had always wanted to be notice by Williams, but now it seemed that Liza was stealing the spotlight.
Sonia's anger simmered just below the surface as she turned to Liza. "I need you to go to the store and pick up some supplies for the fashion show," she said, her voice tight with annoyance.
Liza looked up, surprised. "I'll go later, Ms. Sonia. I need to focus on this design right now."
Sonia's face darkened with anger. "I need it now," she snapped.
Liza shrugged, unfazed. "You can send someone else or go yourself, Ms. Sonia. We're not even working on the same thing."
Sonia's anger boiled over, and she slapped Liza across the face. The room fell silent, with everyone staring at Sonia in shock.
Liza's eyes welled up with tears as she stormed out of the room, leaving Sonia looking satisfied but also worried. She knew she had crossed a line, but she couldn't help herself.
As the door closed behind Liza, Sonia let out a sigh of relief. She had asserted her dominance.
But Sonia's mind was still racing with thoughts of how to take Liza down. She couldn't let Liza steal the spotlight and ruin her chances with Tylor.
Sonia's eyes narrowed as she thought, her mind working overtime to come up with a plan. And then, a sly smile spread across her face.
"I've got it," Sonia said to herself, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know exactly how to mess up Liza's project and make sure she doesn't succeed."
With a satisfied smile, Sonia leaned back in her chair, her mind already working on the details of her plan.
