THREAD OF FATE CHAPTER 14 As the day drew to a close, Tylor caught sight of Liza leaving the office building. He quickly followed her, his long strides eating up the distance between them. "Hey, Liza! Wait up!" Tylor called out, his voice carrying across the parking lot. Liza turned, a look of surprise on her face. "Oh, hi Mr Tylor! I was just heading home." Tylor smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I can give you a lift, if you'd like. My car is just over here." Liza hesitated, unsure if she should accept the offer. But Tylor's persistence eventually won her over, and she agreed to let him drive her home. As they walked towards Tylor's car, Sonia happened to be walking out of the office building. Her eyes narrowed as she took in the scene before her – Tylor opening the car door for Liza, his face alight with a warm smile. Sonia felt a surge of anger and jealousy. She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Tylor's number, her fingers trembling with rage. But Tylor didn't answer. He was too busy chatting with Liza, asking her about her day and listening intently to her responses. As they drove through the city streets, Liza told Tylor about her family – about her mom who had passed away a few years ago, and her dad and brother who she lived with. Tylor listened with a sympathetic ear, his expression somber. "I'm so sorry about your mom's passing," he said, his voice filled with compassion. "May her soul rest in peace." Liza smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Tylor. "Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As they continued driving, Tylor asked Liza if she'd like to grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants along the way. Liza agreed, and they pulled into a cozy little bistro that served the most delicious food. Over the dinner, they chatted and laughed, getting to know each other better. Tylor was amazed by Liza's kindness, her generosity, and her beauty – both inside and out. As the evening drew to a close, Tylor drove Liza home, feeling a sense of reluctance as he pulled up to her front door. "Thanks for the lift, Tylor," Liza said, smiling up at him. "And thanks for dinner. I had a great time." Tylor smiled back, feeling his heart skip a beat. "I had a great time too, Liza. Maybe we can do it again sometime soon?" Liza's face lit up with a bright smile. "I'd like that." As Tylor drove away from Liza's house, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had really enjoyed Liza's company, and he couldn't wait to see her again. Meanwhile, Sonia was still fuming. She had called Tylor multiple times, but he hadn't answered. She felt a sense of betrayal, of jealousy. When Tylor finally called her back, Sonia's anger had cooled slightly. But she was still wary, still suspicious. "Hey Sonia, I missed your call," Tylor said, his voice cheerful. "Is everything okay?" Sonia's tone was icy. "I've been calling you nonstop, Tylor. You didn't answer." Tylor sighed, feeling a sense of guilt. "I'm sorry, Sonia. I was busy with work." But Sonia wasn't having it. She knew that Tylor had been with Liza, and she felt a sense of rage. "I just wanted to say hi," Sonia said finally, her voice tight with anger. Tylor was taken aback. "Oh, okay Sonia. Take care, see you at work tomorrow." The call ended, and Tylor couldn't help but feel a sense of confusion. Why had Sonia called him, only to say hi? He shrugged, pushing the thought aside. He had more important things to worry about – like his growing feelings for Liza.
