[Chapter 14: The Council, His Sins and Her Wings]

The morning sun is shining brightly and Elena's smile can be compared to it, she is obviously very happy that Scorch is finally back. Scorch just listen to everything that Elena are telling him even if is gone for almost a month he wants to know what happened to Elena while he is gone.

"Everything is scary while you're not here and I felt lonely too because my friends doesn't wan to talk to me" she said to Scorch and he just sigh, he felt sorry because of the issue with her friends but he knew that it's not Elena's lose it's her friends lose

"But you know Scorch, something is really weird...... No let me rephrase it, someone is really weird" Elena said looking at the ceiling, they are just sitting in the couch in the living room and just talking about the events that happened to them when they didn't see each other but Elena his the part about her dreams and vision while she didn't know that Scorch did the same

"Who is it? " Scorch ask because his curiosity is eating him, he wants to know the things that have happened to her

"The man that saved me, Voltaire..... He just appeared out of nowhere and then he just protect me" Elena look at him and shrugged her before she said that, indicating that she didn't know Voltaire's real intension

"Why didn't you ask him? You didn't know if he is one of the enemy or not" Scorch said his eyebrows are furrowed while looking at her intently

"That's because he always disappear and the last time I saw him our conversation is not good" she said with a hint of disappointment in her voice while Scorch thinks for awhile, he knows that he have heard that name before but he can't remember when.

"He saved you from what? " he ask, he wants to know more

"He saved me from the carabao head that wants to kill me in the park and the two vines creature in the forest" Elena said

"And what are you doing in the forest? " Scorch ask as he feel a little angry, he wants to treat Elena as a little sister and now that he knew that she is Christine in her past life, he will surely treat her better so she wouldn't feel what Christine have felt before, he will make her happy so that she can't repeat what Christine have done to him and Veena.

"I was just exploring you know and because of the incident in the playground I just want to breath some fresh air but those two vines creatures appeared" she explained as her palm sweat a little maybe because she didn't know how to lie, Scorch just nodded indicating that he understand her situation

"How about you Scorch, why did you suddenly disappeared? "Elena said changing the topic by switching her attention to Scorch, now it is time for Scorch to have sweat in his palm

"The council suddenly summoned me to work on some things and I thought that it will only took a few hours but instead it took almost a month, I'm sorry if I can't protect you because of that" he said lying too, he didn't want Elena to know that she is part of his past when he is still a human because may not believe him, he knows that lying is a sin but what can he do, he didn't want Elena to worry about him. Sometimes lies are not bad depends on the situation, he is telling her white lies but he didn't knew that she is doing the same thing, lies can break someones touch and it can ruin someones life whatever what lie it is but he needs to even if he is an angel, some angels are telling bigger lies to others and his lies are tiny if you compare it to them.

"How about we find the one who hacked your account? " Scorch suggested and Elena sigh

"But even if we found out who is the hacker, my friends trust for me are gone" she sadly said, trust is the one that every relationship needs whether it is a romance relationship, family relationship or friends relationship, once the trust is broke it cannot be fix and put in it's form just like a broken plate even if you put it back together it already have a crack that if you repeat your mistake again it will be bike again and there's a chance that you cannot put it back together, once is forgivable but twice is enough it needs to stop.

"Don't lose hope, you are not the one to blame, it is not your fault it's their mistake that they didn't listen to your explanation, they don't have enough trust on you" Scorch said and rub Elena's back while she just nodded and smile at him

She is truly lucky that she can see Scorch so when she needs a true friend she can talk to him freely unlike before she is just talking to herself that her parents thought that she is crazy, she was about to talk but the telephone rang so she stand up and answer the phone

"Hello? " she said

"Hello sweetie! How are you? "

"Mom in glad you called, I'm fine how about you and dad? How's grandma and grandpa? "

"We're fine and your grandmother is still resting but she is finally out from the hospital last week and your grandfather is very happy about it"

"Really? But mom when are you guys going home? "

"I'm sorry sweetie but we can't go back there yet, your grandparents still needs some help"

"I understand but make sure to take care and can you say hi to grandpa and grandma for me? "

"Of course I will and oh I already transfer the same amount of money in your bank account just don't starve yourself okay? I love you bye!"

"Thank you mom, I love you too bye! Take care! " Elena said and the call ended

"Hey what's with the sad look? " Scorch said when she sat in the couch

"I just miss my parents and my grandparents" she said and look at him, only to see him smiling

"You will see them soon just wait and be happy that nothing bad happened to them okay? " he sad and Elena nodded

"I'm going to prepare breakfast do you want to eat? " Elena ask as she stand up then walk into the kitchen, Scorch laugh and followed her

"As if I eat in this world" he said then laugh again that makes Elena shook her head

Looking at someone you love that's with someone else hurts a lot and that's what Veena feels while looking at Scorch and Elena while hiding behind the tree, she can see them through the window that was place in the kitchen, she knew in herself that she shouldn't be affected but she can't help it, they look so happy while she feel lonely or she guess that she just miss Scorch presence.

"You might burn them" a voice behind her said, she turn around and saw a person that walk beside her, a person that she never expected

"Black why are you here? " Veena ask while looking at the man who is leaning at the tree with his hands in his pockets, the man looks like a normal human that nobody will think that he is very different

Black is the youngest male sibling of Diamond, he is the hunter of evil spirits or lost souls on earth, the humans can see him so at daylight he live like a real human and when the night comes he will be the hunter he is, he is important into the underworld because he is one o the demons that connects human to demons by becoming one of them while his eldest sister Diamond is one of the leader in the council, she represents the demon but even if they are a demon they both have a kind heart, Black have a funny personality and a good company while Diamond is gentle and have a soft personality, Veena thinks that she have depts to them because Black is the one who found her while Diamond is the one who gave her a position but for the two siblings it is nothing because they said that they just wanted to help.

"Hello to you too Veena, my sister wants to talk to you" Black said while looking at her with a cold face expression

"Why would Diamond wants to talk to me?" She ask confusedly

"I don't know she just told me to fetch you and tell you that she wants to talk to you, you know her she's too secretive" Black said, Veena just put her poker face on then she disappeared leaving Black behind, Black grunt and roll his eyes

"Why are you always disappearing when we are talking" Black said and disappeared leaving a black smoke behind

The sun is can't be seen in the sky, the stars are beautifully shining on the sky and the moon is bright and round like before, finally the night came but Scorch and Elena is still watching a movie until Elena close her eyes, Scorch look at her and smile bitterly.

"I hope you don't repeat Christine's mistake" he said and carry Elena in a bridal style position, he wants everything to be put to their right place and he knows that Elena is the answer to that. Mistakes can be repeated not just once or twice because it can be repeated many times but there will always be a second chance for every mistakes and he knew that Elena was given one. He lay Elena in her bed and cover her body with a soft blanket, he look outside through the window to check if there's any creatures that wants to attack Elena but when he saw none he close the window and went outside but before that he close the lights into her room and he went straight to the living room, Scorch look around and check every single corner of the living room just to make sure that Elena will be safe, he may look like crazy but he just want Elena to have the second chance that he knew she deserve, he also went to the kitchen and he make sure that the back door is lock he also check the kitchen tools and everything that are harmful are in place, he sigh and went outside the house, he look around to check if there are other creatures nearby but when he saw none he just decided to go to the nearest playground, Scorch sat under the tree and look into the sky, the moon is shining so brightly like it is the sun in the night, the stars have different sizes too but all of it are shining so brightly too then a face suddenly appeared into his mind.

He wish that Veena is on his side but he knew that she have many things to do now that she was gone for almost a month because she was busy helping him that she temporarily forgot about her duty and he hope that she is not angry at him because of that, he chuckled because of his thoughts

"How are you now Veena?" He whispered to himself while still looking at the sky but still thinking of her, before he knew that Crystal and Veena are one he already admire her when they first met in the lost world, he saw a strict but kind demon, it doesn't mean that Veena was named as Demon of death doesn't mean that all she knew was to kill the creatures and then collect the souls, she have a good heart and she knew it since from the start,he smile again but it immediately had wipe off when he felt a sudden pain in his chest, he put his hand in it and he clench it but it doesn't work, his vision becomes blurred too feeling the pain in his head too

"Crystal.... Crystal are you there?" Alston said while looking around the woods just to find Crystal, the sun is setting but Crystal is not yet home so he decided to find her until his feet brought him at the west side of the forest where Crystal always stay, he look around until he saw someone sitting in a big rock

"Crystal!.... I knew you were here" he happily said while walking towards the rock where Crystal sit but he slowly stop when he notice something, Crystal is just sitting there while closing her eyes and there are black shadows that are floating around her, he felt scared but he choose to watch a little more to see what she is doing and to know who she really is, the shadows glow like they are on fire and he heard some whispers that makes his head hurts.

"Crystal! " he shouted then he fell in the ground while holding his head, Crystal suddenly opened her eyes and saw Alston on the ground so she run towards him

"Alston!........ Alston listen to my voice.... Don't listen to them, just focus on me" she said with tears flowing into her eyes while Alston is laying on her lap

"Crystal what are they? " Alston whispered while his eyes are half close

"I will explain later.... Just rest for now love" she said and Alston just smiled then close her eyes while Crystal is just humming his favorite song

That's the day that Alston found out that Crystal was a half demon but he still love her even if she is different from him, he trust her and Crystal is the same with him. Those whispers he heard was from the lost souls that Crystal was talking through her mind, it is the natural effect to humans when they saw a ritual between a demon and lost souls, Alston is lucky that Crystal is with him and because of that he didn't die. Many days past since the day that Alston knows the real Crystal but he still love her with all of his heart until one day after he cut all the woods that they needed while Christine is in the village to buy some foods be found Crystal in their kitchen while crying he immediately went to her.

"What happened? Are you hurt?" He said while looking at any possible injuries in her body but Crystal shook her head and giggle

"I'm pregnant" she said while she is still crying but at the same time smiling, Alston froze for a minute then he point himself

"I-im g-going to be a f-father" he stuttered and Crystal nodded her head slowly then suddenly Alston carry her and spin her around

"Thank you, thank you, thank you" he shouted and hug her tight then kiss her in the face multiple times

"Thank you for giving me the best day of my life, I really really love you and of course our little gift here" he said while caressing Crystal's stomach, it was the best day of his life but all of it got ruined when Christine decided to tell the hunters where Crystal live and they decided to burn them, if he had his best day he also have the worst day of his life that no nightmare can be compared to it.

Scorch head hurts more when he remember all those things that he can't prevent the tears from flowing into his eyes and when the pain is gone, his vision suddenly turned black as he lose his conscious and fell into the cold green grass of the playground.

Many whispers are can be heard while Veena is walking into the hallway but she didn't care about them, all she wants to hear is the voice of Diamond while explaining why does she want to talk to her, when she finally reach the door of Diamond's room she knock three times and the door open

"What do you want to talk to? " she said directly to the point while walking towards Diamond who is looking in the window

"The sky is very beautiful, isn't it? " Diamond said while still looking in the window that makes Veena cross her arms

"Answer my question Diamond" she said then the door open and Black went in then he sit in the couch beside the book shelf

"You talk like you don't have a sin and that is to keep secret to me" she said and coldness are visible in her voice, Veena may not show her emotions but deep inside she is scared to Diamond because she is one of the stronger Demons that's why she is one of the leaders in the council so Diamond have the rights to do anything to them

"I have my ears and my eyes Veena, so I know that you escape from the lost world to help an angel" Diamond said again then she walk towards her study table to pick up some papers while Black is just reading some books that he saw from the book shelf

"It is fine if you went out in the lost world to explore bit to help an angel?...... I don't think so" Diamond chuckled after she said that, that makes Veena feel the coldness because of her voice

"But Diamond...... He needs help and he didn't cause any harm so I guess it's fine" Veena explain to the eldest but she just smirk

"Didn't cause any harm?....... Oh yeah... He will no longer cause any harm because the angels will kill him for seeking help from a demon like you" she said with hardness in her voice and burn the paper in her hands using her ability, Diamond's eyes are shining with a deep red color indicating that she is angry but Veena didn't care about that because she is more worried to her statement

"That's not true right? " she hopefully said but Diamond just laugh at her

"I'm not lying Veena, the angels will kill him because it is one of the rules that angels have made, no angel can negotiate with demon because if they did they will kill the angel...... That rule was made hundreds of years ago and they respect it but because that angel didn't obey their rule they need to kill him" Diamond explain and Black just nodded as if his sister was talking to him

"You are one of the council right? Please tell the angels to spare him,to spare Scorch" Veena said and she didn't notice that she is already crying, Diamond's expression soften when she saw her crying, she treats Veena as her real sister so it hurts for her to see her like this

"Your request is not easy Veena, we need the whole council to do that but because we already have a meeting yesterday the next will be next month" Diamond said and Veena just cried there because knew that she can't do anything but cry

"There's another solution though" Black suddenly said then he stand up and walk close to them with his finger on his chin

"You need to sacrifice something for him then Diamond will talk to the angels" Black said and then he smile but Diamond roll her eyes

"But Black we need to talk to the angels first before we do the sacrifice" Diamond said while looking at her brother

"If we did that they will not agreed but if we do it he sacrifice first, they have no choice but to give another punishment but not death" Black cleverly said and cross his arms

"Let's do it" Veena said eagerly while her both hands are on the table

"Veena are you sure about this?" Diamond ask because she is not ready

"Yes Diamond, I will do anything just for him, I don't want him to be gone" Veena said that touch Diamond's heart and her eyes turns to it's original color

"I think I can't do anything to change your mind" Diamond said again and smile at her and she did the same

"What do you want to sacrifice? " Black ask to Veena and she looks at him

"My wings" she seriously said

"But that's the most important thing for you Veena" Diamond's brows furrowed as she said that but she only see eagerness into her eyes

"I will sacrifice my wings" Veena bravely said and Diamond just sigh but she still smile and look at Black

"Black bring out the tools we needed" she said, Black just smile and nodded at the two of them

"Are you ready? You can back out if you want" Diamond said but Veena just laugh at her

"My decision is final, I want to do this because I know he doesn't deserve that kind of punishment" Veena seriously said and Diamond just sigh again

Diamond smile in her mind because of the determination of Veena to save Scorch, doing the sacrifice is illegal when the whole council didn't know about it or they don't have all the blessings of the other four leaders but what can Diamond do when it is Veena who beg for her help and she knew that Black is affected too that's why he said the other way to save Scorch, when the other leaders knew about this they can kick Diamond out of the council and the council may decide to kick out Black to underworld and he might stay on earth forever but the two of them don't care as long as Veena is happy they will continue to help their friend that they treated as a little sister.

Black went back to Diamond's room with a black wooden medium size box in his hand, he put it on the study table and gestured his hand for Diamond to open the box, Diamond went close to the box and put her hand above it until a gold line trace every single characters and words that is written outside the box then she remove her hands and the box opened, but a knock on the door interrupted them.

"Black hide Veena and the box" Diamond whispered and black nodded his head, he carry the box then he hold Veena's shoulder and they disappeared, Diamond quickly sit on her chair and put some papers in front of her

"Come in" Diamond said and the door opened revealing the two demon guards and an angel

"Milady, this angel said that he have a message from the council" one of the guards said then they bow and went out of the door then close it

"You may take a sit" Diamond said and the angel gladly took a seat in front of her

"What does the council wants Walden? " she seriously said and look straight into his eyes

"The council wants to know if there's a demon under your command that help an angel in the past three weeks" Walden said and that makes Diamond nervous a little but she cover it with a spell so Walden can't feel her very fast beating heart

"I have been watching them and I allowed no one to come out into our world for now, but may I ask why the council said that? " she lied and she knows it but she's a demon she can lie to everyone but not to her family

"A guardian angel was sent to the lost world to be punish but a demon help him to go back to earth but something more happened that the council wants to talk about tomorrow, Ruby the leader of fairies wants to see the demon and the others wants you Milady to find and punish the said demon" Walden explained and Diamond just nodded, now that she knew the council wants it is easy for her and Black to cover for Veena

"Tell the others that I will find that demon immediately and I will punish whoever helped that Angel" Diamond said a d Wald nodded then he stand up

"I am going to go back Milady I hope you find the demon" Walden said and bow his head then he went out of the door,Diamond sigh because of relief and the she close her eyes

"Black the angel is gone" she said and then Black with Veena and the box suddenly appeared in front of her, Diamond lock the door using her mind and Black put the box in her table again

"We need to hurry, I think that they will kill him any seconds now" she said and put the tools she needed in the table one by one, there are black metal beads that are made of pure metal and magma with a little spell, a small glads bottle with ashes of the body of lost souls that came from Illusia's mirrors inside, a black knife that is made of pure black diamond and blood of a strongest demon with a pure metal and magma handle, a gold bowl with some black linings that are made of blood from an angel and a demon and last but not the least a black book with gold letters that is made of a monster's skin and the words were written by the first half demon and a half angel sinner

"Veena kneel in the carpet and spread your wings" Diamond commanded and Veena do what she said while Black just look at them and it is visible that he is nervous that he almost regret that he said the other way to save an angel from the council's punishment, Veena looks nervous but it is the only thing that she can do for Scorch, Diamond open the book and read it

"I, Diamond, one of the leader in the council, offers a blood of a sinner, that can be exchange with a wish" Diamond said then she pick up the gold bowl and the black knife, then she cut Veena on her chest that makes Veena moan in pain but held it in, she put the bowl below the cut to catch the slow flow of Veena's blood when she got enough amount of blood she healed her wound, then Diamond put the ashes into the blood then mix it and then she proceed on reading the book

"I offer this blood of the sinner with the ashes of the lost souls to the creatures in every world" she said and put the gold bowl in front of Veena the she took the black metal beads and look at her

"This is going to be a little painful" she said and Veena close her eyes same with Black who is watching in the corner of the room

"Aaahhhh!!! " Veena shouted when she felt a sudden pain in her back, Diamond just wrap the black metal beads into her wings and cut it, a tear fell into Veena's eyes but she didn't care as long as she save Scorch from death

"I offer this wings of the sinner for the creatures in every world for their one sin can be forgiven and shall not be punish when the day they die in exchange of freeing the angel that named Scorch from the punishment of death that the council have decided" she said and put the wings beside the gold bowl while Black went to Veena and heal her then he carry her to sit in the couch, Diamond pour the content of the gold bowl into the wings and little by little it burn until the only thing that can be seen are ashes on the floor, Diamond collect the ashes

"Bring my message but not my name" she whispered into the ashes then blew it in the air

"How is she? Is she fine? " she ask to her brother that is caressing Veena's hair while she is sleeping in his lap

"She is fine, she just need to rest so her wound will completely heal" he said and sigh the same with Diamond, she sit in the couch too, in Veena's head and kiss her forehead

"Rest for awhile little Ven and tomorrow you will see your love again" she said and smile

"Is it going to be fine Diamond? I mean what if the angels know this? What if Kier know about this?" Black ask feeling scared for the three of them, he doesn't want the two important ladies in his life to be gone, for him they are the only once that he have in his life

"We need to keep it as a secret for now, I know that they will found out about this but we need to keep our mouth shut to protect Veena and if ever that Kier found out about this I don't care if the demons and angels will have a war but the important thing is we will stop Kier to repeat the things that he did in the past" she said while looking at Black and he nodded but there are things that is bothering him

"I saw that the angel Scorch have a human that he is guarding, what if that human will be affected because of this? " Black said completely concern about the human because he is still the connector of peace for humans and demons, they are not bad at all they still have guilt and pity in their body

"I will send someone to protect the human so don't worry about it brother, tomorrow the council have a meeting I want you to take Veena in the lost world and lock her there and I also want you to bring that angel to Vale and s***h then tell them to look out for him and if they ask why? Tell them the truth they are not our enemies, I know that the council will do anything to eliminate them to hid the truth" she said and Black just nodded then suddenly she remembered the past events that have happened hundred years ago when the demons are still not included to the council and how did she found out that the council is not a peace keeper but they are the war starter

Different creatures are called to celebrate the new council that was formed a few months ago, many creatures are at peace because the council are doing the best they can but little did they know that the new council is up for something. Diamond walk to the hallway hoping to find her little brother Black but she failed on finding him.

"Where is that boy?" She said until she heard some noises that came from the huge door at the end of the hallway, being a demon she is, she focus to that sound and she heard some familiar voices

"She killed my brother that's why I want her to be dead" a male voice said and she also heard some noises that she thinks that something got hit

"She didn't directly killed your brother because your brother choose to command some demon to kill him" a female voice said this time

"But she choose to reject my brother's love just to be with that pathetic human being..... What she can get to that wood cutter?.... My brother can give her everything but she choose to reject it" the same male voice said

"Don't worry we have the power to control now, I'm sure that you can get the revenge you want for your brother" another male voice said

"I don't think it was a good idea besides your brother is the one who choose his death" another male voice said

"Close your mouth and let him do what he wants" the female voice said

That's the time that Diamond realize that she was listening to the council's conversation, she quickly run down the stairs and luckily she bump into her brother Black, he ask so many questions so she tell him what she heard and they quickly went into their house to think who is the council talking about after a few days they found out who it is but they are already late because Raven is already dead the same with the human she love Corvus, they felt sorry because they are late but Diamond found a solution to look out at the council and that is to be one of them.

Scorch open his eyes and all that he can saw is white, he can't see any corner but just white, he stand up and look around but he really didn't found anyone so he decided to walk because he thought that it is the lost world where Veena was in and because of that he suddenly felt happy like there's something inside him that wants to leap out but his dreams scattered when when he suddenly heard a voice that makes him disappointed

"Hello to you guardian angel, what's with the sad face?" A voice said and a figure appeared far away from him but it turns out to be an angel just like him but base on his gold armor the man have a high place in their world, Scorch kneel with one knee and bow his head when he recognize who it is

"Master Kier" Scorch said that's the name that the angels needs to say when they are talking or greeting to Kier

"Stand up"Kier said when he got close to Scorch and he did what he said

"Do you know what you are doing here?" Kier said that makes him think ,he just shook his head because he really don't know unless.....

"We sent you to the lost world to teach you a lesson but instead you seek help from a demon to go back to earth" Kier said straight forwardly and walk closer to him but even if Scorch wanted to step backwards he can't because his feet can move and he guess it is because of Kier's ability, he didn't want Veena to get involve in his situation but he guess that the council found out

"You do a thing more than that, you heal a demon using the old ways of out healers, we only use that if the wounded is an angel but instead you use it to a demon and from what I heard you save that demon multiple times that makes your ability to be weakened little by little" Kier said while walking in a circular motion around him, Scorch palms sweat the same with his forehead because he knows the consequences for his action and he knew that Kier will do it without second thoughts.

"I'm sorry master Kier" he said but Kier just laugh and a force hit him that makes him hit the invisible wall and blood ooze from his mouth

"That's a mistake, we have an agreement with them that we can't help each other if one is under a punishment, I know that Diamond is finding that demon right now to kill just like what Walden said and I will do the same to you" Kier said that makes Scorch eyes to widen, he will accept his fate with all of his heart but he didn't want Veena to die just like before, he swear that he will prevent the past to happen again but it seems like it just started before he remember their past, without him knowing tears fell into his eyes while holding his stomach and thinking about Veena.

"Just accept it, it's your fault" Kier said and a blinding light appear from his hand, he was about to hit Scorch with it and Scorch just close his eyes tightly when a portal appear and it reveal Ruby that walks towards Kier and whispered something

"You are lucky that someone sacrifice a pair of wings for you to be set free but I'm not gonna let you go that easily, I will not let you to guard a human anymore and from now on you can't go back here unless you have something to sacrifice for exchange to be back" Kier said and then he disappeared with Ruby, Scorch sigh but tears are still falling from his eyes, he didn't know what happened to Veena but he still hope that they won't find her and little by little his eyes close and he disappeared leaving the place quite as before.
