Being the only child sucks for Elena because when she needs help she got no one, well except for her friends and her family but they are not there all the time they can't focus on her because they have their own life too and besides she's not a child anymore she needs to be independent and strong but when she met Scorch she is depending her protection to him which is not good because she needs to learn how to protect herself that's a part of being independent but right now she proves that she can't be alone.

Elena didn't know where is Scorch but she is still hoping that he will appear and protect her from evil creatures that are trying to kill her even if she don't know why? But she feel scared again so instead of going outside she just locked herself inside their house because going outside is dangerous for now and she needs to wait for Scorch to come back.Everything that are happening confuses her, she cleaned that blood without even knowing where did it came from and the rose she just put is in a vase and the letter she kept it in her cabinet, right now she doesn't have any clues where does the letter, the rose and most of all the blood came from, all she knows is she heard a crash then she saw those things.

"What am I going to do now? " she said while spraying some air freshener to get rid of the blood's disgusting smell she actually don't know what kind of blood it is because it smell like rotting meat or a corpse or she actually don't know because the color is different too it is dark red almost black and it never dries looks creepy for her but she have to endured it when she cleaned it.

"Scorch where are you?I'm afraid" she said when she sat in the couch and tears fell into her eyes even if she didn't admit it she miss the angel's presence even if she only saw him a few days ago she feel comfortable knowing that he is there to protect her but the situation right now is different she is alone although she have her friends because they didn't know anything.

"Scorch I need you please come back I don't want to be alone" she said and more tears fell into her eyes she doesn't like to be alone when she knows that there are creatures out there that wants to eliminate her into this world.

When we thought that everything we see is easy not until we are the one who is doing that thing just like what Veena and Scorch feel right now they thought traveling to earth is easy but no it was the hardest thing they ever did because they need to pass the six unknown places before they see the portal they are lucky that they met two half angels not demons because that's going to be a problem well at least for Scorch because even if angels and demons agreed to each others rules they're still not in a good terms.

Some may think that they are crazy because they need to pass those six unknown places when they can think of easier ways like teleporting or flying but that's the problem for Scorch remember? He got no strength to do those things and Veena can't teleport or carry him while flying because if angels see them they are going to punish Scorch and for Veena it's nothing if demons see them because she's a demon and they are suppose to commit a sin that's what they are but angels they are not they will kill if an angel commits a sin and no one can change that.

Veena and Scorch is just sitting on a rock underneath a tall tree, they just sat there in silence, a comfortable silence, Scorch is thinking about Elena if she is doing well because he knew that her parents are not with her while Veena is thinking about her life after this, the two of them don't know what will happen to their lives after this it's either they forgot what happened or they are not going to greet each other just like strangers and for Veena she don't know what to choose but the question is do they really need to do that?

"Veena let's keep moving" he said and she nod her head but Scorch stood up and offer his hand to her she got shock but take his hand anyways then they walk together without noticing that they are still holding hands with each other. They continue their journey with their minds flying like birds in the sky, they are thinking about the people they left well for Scorch he left Elena with no one and for Veena she left someone important but she knows that they can handle their life, no one wants to take their place if they ask because life is hard for them. Being an Angel and a Demon is hard they thought that their rules are harsh for example an Angel wants to be a Demon because they thought that Demons don't have rules but Demons wants to do the same because they thought that Angels rules are less harsher than them but they know that it can't happened because they are different from appearance and images in humans mind but somehow they are the same when it comes to the rules, so harsh for them but they don't have a choice but to obey because they don't want to be punish by the council so they just do what the rules says even if the humans are clueless that they are included into the rules of all creatures.

On their way to their second destination they are still preoccupied with their thoughts that they didn't notice that someone is watching them while hiding behind the trees

"Well hello my visitors" someone said then giggle while looking at Scorch and Veena

"Veena do you think I can go back to Earth? " Scorch ask while looking down and Veena just giggle because of him

"Of course, why do you ask anyways? " Veena said and took a glance at him for a second

"I'm just afraid that I can't" he said but she just click her tongue

"You are worried about the human you are suppose to guard" she said and Scorch looks like he is taken a back but he guess that she knows that he is guarding a human, he introduce himself as a guardian angel anyways

"Well yeah, she's alone right now and the fact that she can see me and other creatures including your hellhounds" he said and it is time for Veena to have that shock look Scorch have before but she just shrugged it off because she thinks that the human Scorch is protecting have an ability to do that and they called them gifted so that's not a big deal for her.

"So that means she saw my hellhounds chasing you? " she ask

"Yeah she's with me that time and she is so scared and clueless at the same time" he said

"Oh I'm sorry about that" and when she said that, Scorch's mind have froze because of the word 'sorry' that came out of her lips, Demons don't apologize to other creatures even to other Demons so he is just shocked that she said that even if he thinks that he over react

After hours of walking Scorch finally realize something when he look at the big acacia tree

"We already came here" he said and she look at him with a confuse expression

"What? " she said and look around but Scorch just point into the big acacia tree

"The acacia tree is still the same if there are other acacia tree in here they wouldn't look the same" he said and Veena finally understand what he is saying and notice the ground that have their footprints

"Someone is tricking us" she said and look around and that's the time when she realize that she still holding his hands so she retrieve her hand back and blush without realizing it, she is obviously embarrassed but she thinks Scorch don't notice it because he is busy looking around, they continue to look around until they heard someone laughs.

"I fooled you~ I fooled you~ I fooled you~" the elf said while jumping and dancing around, Veena and Scorch look at each other knowing that the elf just fooled them

"Stop fooling us and show us the way" Veena said and the elf stop dancing and look at her straight in the eyes, when the elf look at her she felt that there is something the way he looks at her and that's the time that she felt the word danger

"You don't respect me my dear demon" the elf said and glare at her like that glare can kill her

"Then respect us and I will respect you" she said and cross her arms to her chest like she is challenging him

"Nah I'm a demon how can I respect you? " then the elf laugh while holding his tummy but Veena chuckled too

"As you said I'm a demon too so respect is not included in my dictionary" she said while smirking and the elf jump around while shouting, Scorch just look at the two without saying anything, a few seconds later the ground started to shake then the ground started to crack and the elf disappear but they can still hear his laugh, Veena tried to fly with her wings but it didn't work she also tried to use her powers but nothing happened so she guess that this place is power proof

"Scorch I can't use my powers into this place, we need to get out of here or else something bad is going to happen to us" she said as she look at the trees that are falling beneath the ground while Scorch look at below the crack and he gulp as he saw the magma that is burning the trees that are falling,

"How can we get out of here Veena?!" Scorch yelled because the ground cracks between their space and Veena is on the other side, right now there's no trees or any plants like before all they can see are rocks and magma beneath those rocks it actually looks like they are inside a Volcano because their surrounding turns dark too.

"Did you saw the elf?! " Veena yelled too

"I saw him disappear before the ground cracks" he said while he tried to balance himself and then be jump into another rock then he look at the rock where he stand before, it disappear so he guess that every rocks that they are standing will be the same, he look around to see if there's any safe place and he finally saw one and Veena is close to it

"Veena jump into another rock until you reach that opening!" he said then Veena nodded and do what he said

He is quit far from the opening so he jump to a rock to another. Veena finally reach the opening so she look at Scorch but she saw him struggling from jumping because the rocks are far from each other and there are some rocks that are falling from above when he is finally one rock far from Veena she saw a big rock that is going to fall from above and it is going to fall down to Scorch so she tried to warn him

"Scorch watch out! " she shouted at him but it is too late because the rock fell and luckily Scorch jump but the distance is still far lucky for him because Veena grab him by the wrist

"Hold on tight" she said then she pulled him up, they both pant as they watch the place fall down into pieces, they enter to the opening and they finally see the elf who is happily eating foods then the elf notice them

"Oh hello" the elf said and continue eating his foods, the place is different from the place they went before because this place have a fountain with lava flowing through it, many tiny volcanoes and flowers that looks like a rock, Veena just rolled her eyes while Scorch just look around and can't help but feel amaze about the place

"We almost die and the only thing you are going to say is 'hello'" she said sarcastically but the elf just laugh and laugh

"It's part of our lives, we are in between life and death, don't worry you're going to experience it in other places either Earth or here even in Heaven and Hell" the elf said and continue eating

"Can you tell us what is your name?and what is this place called?"Scorch said

"My name is Trek and this place don't have a name but some of the creatures called it The Core Of Hell" then the elf or Trek laugh and the ground started to shake once more and a few moments later Trek disappear again, Veena and Scorch look at each other with widen eyes

"Not again" she said and the place started to fall down again so they run and jump into one rock to another but this time it is like the place have a tsunami, a tsunami of lava that is following them and right now the only opening that they can see is the whole from above but the problem is both of them can't fly, they are powerless this time and then Veena saw Trek peek his head from the hole from above but he just laugh at them and that makes Veena's blood boils because of anger, she swear that she's going to punish that elf, well she's the demon of death so she can do whatever that can includes death. Veena is a hard headed demon and she knows Trek because of the creatures she met before, those creatures said that Trek doesn't care if a creature die in front of him, he cares about nobody even if it is his own kind because he is still a demon inside and out but Veena knows that he is only doing his work, as a guardian they need to protect the place and makes sure that nobody enters their place or if someone already enter they need to make sure that they will never come back again and she is sure that Trek is doing that right now.

Their life is harder than you think, the guardians are just the creatures that are hiding from the council but unfortunately the council found them and put them to the unknown places as a punishment, they don't want it but they don't have a choice, as the time pass by they grew liking it because they are like the Kings and Queen of their own kingdom and yes they treat the unknown places as their palace.

"Scorch give me your hand! "Veena said while they are running and without any questions Scorch did what she said, right now Veena can't think of anything but she wants the both of them to survive because she knows that she can die too, she close her eyes and think of anything but nothing just emptiness then she tried to calm down, she breath hard until she didn't feel the ground beneath her feet.

"Woah Veena you are flying! " Scorch shouted while holding Veena's hand, she open her eyes and saw that they are flying so she went to the direction of the hole and went out of there, when they are finally out she set him down to the ground and they saw that the place they went before it is disappearing with Trek laughing inside

"One of you is going to die! " Trek said while shouting but they didn't see him anymore and the place disappear, right now they only see plants like before

"What did he mean by that? " Scorch said while they are dusting off their clothes

"I don't know but let's Jeep on going before he appears again" Veena said and started to walk, he look at the place again then follow right behind her

They still have some unanswered questions in their mind, why do they keep on saying that someone is dying? And if someone is dying Veena should know it first because she is the demon of death maybe they are just playing tricks with them or just trying to fooled them, all of the creatures didn't want to play with death and Veena she is catching the souls from different dimensions that's why she should know who will die first but right now everything is confusing them, Scorch only thought that he got a problem but now his problem involve Veena. Walking into a place that is full of plants, fresh air and water is very calming but walking with many questions in their heads bother them.

"Stop thinking of those words that Trek have said, think about the human that you are guarding on Earth and pray for her safety, we don't know when you can go back to Earth" Veena said but she is just looking into their path

"Thank you for saying that and maybe I should stop thinking about those words that he said, I should be positive that I can go back on Earth with a whole body so I will finally continue my job protecting Elena" Scorch said while smiling and Veena does the same, it is the first time that she tried to comfort someone and it feels good in her point of view but she knows that it is going to be the last.

"Elena is her name? " she ask and look at him but he just nod his head

"Beautiful name for a human" she said again and look at their path again

From afar Trek is staring at them but didn't do anything and a disappointed look was painted across his face while sitting in a branch of a tall tree.

"I am maybe a demon but I have a heart too and all I can do is hope for the best for the two of you, may the spirits of all creatures guide you my dear demon and angel" after he said those words he disappeared from the tree and the place was covered with a smoky haze but the two creatures continue to walk without noticing that they are entering a portal, a portal that leads to the lake of the unknown death.
