The place that Scorch woke up to is the place between heaven and hell they called it the lost world or the invisible maze where Veena lives, yes she lives there not in hell because she have many blood line so sometimes other creatures calling her the empress and besides she got the highest position in the council which Scorch didn't know because he really don't care about the council, he secretly against the rules but when he saw Veena alone in that world with only her pets he felt lucky at least he knows where he belongs unlike Veena, yes she is a demon but there's a part of witch and many creatures in her blood.

Both of them could win if this is a contest because both of them are staring at each other without blinking an eye

"What? " Veena unbelievably said she was surprise that an angel didn't know how to go back to heaven

"Then go back to earth" she just said and continue looking at her painted finger nails, if he don't know how to go back to heaven she is sure that he knows how to go back to earth but when she saw Scorch scratch his nape and look down she is shocked

"Please don't tell me that you don't know how to go back to earth too" she said while looking at him sharply in the eyes and he just look away

"Uhm... I did? " he is hesitating for saying that and in just a snap of fingers Veena is in front of him with a cross arms and furrowed brow

"Are you really an angel? " she said to him because all of her life this is the first time she saw an angel who can't go back into both worlds

"I am but I don't travel a lot and I guess I'm not interested in going back and forth at from heaven to earth" he said and Veena straighten up her posture but still looking at him when she saw that he is really serious that he can't go back she got no choice but to help him because just like what she said she is not heartless and being in here in this place the other creatures may die.

"Fine I will help you go back to earth" she said and then her back from him

"Without any conditions? " he ask because most of the demons are willing to help but there's always have a condition, he didn't want to take a risk again

"Without any conditions, you see I'm not like the other demon if that's what you are thinking right now" she said and sat in the fountain again, she can't understand how is an angel can't go back to heaven or even on earth she thinks it is such a foolish thing ever that she encounter because most of the creatures she have punished they can go back to their world even if they are weak but Scorch's case is different he belongs to heaven, he is guarding a human in earth but he can't go back like what is happening?

"Why on earth? Why not in heaven? " he said and walk towards her and sat in the fountain too

"Even if I have an angel's blood it doesn't mean I can go to heaven, my demon's blood are more stronger than the other so I'm still a demon" she explained to him, he just nod his head and look at the petals until he felt like he is burning again and his eyes visions are blurry but he didn't let Veena to notice it and he bow his head, close his eyes like he is sleeping hoping for the pain to go away

Veena thinks about the places they need to pass to reach the portal of earth, many different things waits for them if she is alone she can just create a portal to earth but the angel can't enter her portal or else the angel will die so she got no choice but take the long journey with the angel she doesn't have a choice she have the blood of a fairy so once that she promised she can't take it back and right now she regrets saying that she will help him but punishing the other creatures hurt her because they are a part of her too. For once she wants to explore the other places being alone in that kind of place makes her sad, no one stayed by her side except one, for her demons are the most cruel creatures of all because they are the one who makes things complicated, believe it or not she doesn't want to be a demon because demon needs to love a demon only they don't have the rights to choose who will they love, the other creatures hate them too even if she just wants to be friends with them they will run far away from her so she decided to live in the invincible maze so no one will see her unless she needs to punish them.

Veena wants freedom from the demons yet Scorch wants freedom from angels different creatures but they want the same thing and that is freedom but freedom always have a one condition and that's sacrifice. The world is unfair for all the creatures but those creatures are the only one who can change that, can Veena and Scorch change it? Will they going to have the freedom they want? Even them can't answer that questions and besides Scorch is worried about Elena because she is alone at their house that's why he wants to go back to earth as soon as possible he wants to do his job smoothly and no one can stop him from doing that. Things can be very difficult if you did one small mistake and that mistake will make everyone judge you just like what happened to Scorch because the council bring him to her that's what Veena thinks.

"Hey Scorch let's go" she said then tap his shoulders, Scorch raise his head and nodded ,they stood up and walk

"The last time I check there's no exit in this place" he said while looking forward, she shook her head and said

"You are wrong, there's an exit to this place it is a portal that will lead us to the unknown places and any creature can enter that portal" she explain and stop

"This is the dead end" he said but she didn't replied to him and just touch the wall then a little swirl of light appear in the middle of the wall after a few seconds the swirl turns bigger and then she look at him

"Follow me" she said then enter the portal even if he is hesitating he still followed her but when he finally pass he saw her standing with darkness around them unlike the invisible maze this place is black he tried to walk towards her but he didn't bump into any walls so he thinks that this is just an ordinary dark place

"Let's keep on going" she said then walk again so he did the same

"Where are we? Why is it so dark in here? " he said while looking around like a kid who just visit the carnival

"You know what... Since we met I think the only thing that you can do is ask me questions" she said and walk ahead of him so again he just do his hobby and that is scratching his nape and followed her

If only he didn't feel weak right now be will just teleport back to earth or fly back to heaven but he knows that he can't do it because of his condition and he is still clueless about it, he already knows that he accidentally disobey the rules and the angels will give him a punishment if he go back to heaven but why do he still felt weak? He can't move his wings nor use his powers, he wanted to ask Veena but she seemed annoyed having him around asking her questions, if he is not weak they didn't have to take the long journey just to go to earth.

"Walk faster will yah?" So he did what she said he walk faster but something made him trip and fell on the floor

"What are you doing on the floor?" Veena ask then he stood up from the floor

"I tripped on something" he said while looking at the floor trying to find what cause him to fall

"He is playing again, listen any voice that you will hear ignore it and anything that you will see don't touch it I repeat DON'T TOUCH IT, c'mon let's keep on walking" she said and walk again even if he is confuse he decided to obey the things that she said

He is new to this world he didn't even know that this kind of world exist but he is amazed that there are some places with only one color

"Scorch, scorch come here" a voice called him but he choose to ignore it just like what Veena said

"I know that you want to be free from the rules and I can grant you a wish" the voice said and for him that's the most tempting words that he wants to take but he still needs to ignore it

"Why are you listening to a demon when you are an angel, don't listen to her she will just trick you" the voice said again but this time he can't ignore it

"It doesn't mean she's a demon she is bad and it doesn't mean that I'm an angel I can't be with her" he said to the voice because he can't take it anymore, not because she is a demon means she doesn't have the right to be with the other creatures like him

"Really? Then wish something and I will grant it, any thing that you want you can have it just tell me" the voice said again but when he is about to talk Veena appeared in front of him which startled him

"I already told you to ignore the voice" she said but after she said that different colored strings appeared out of nowhere and now the place are filled with shining colored strings and it is surrounding them, now the place looks so beautiful but a white string appears in front of him

"Touch the string and you will see your destiny" the voice said again and when he was about to touch it out of curiosity but a soft hand stop him

"Don't if you touch it your destiny will change" she said and worry is painted in her face

"Don't worry if I touch it and my destiny change I don't care because I am the one who is holding it not this strings" he said smiling at her and then a laugh interrupted them

"You are a smart one aren't you? " a man said that appears on their left side

"Who are you?" He ask and Veena rolled her eyes

"The name's Linus and welcome to the Strings of Fate be careful walking in this place because once you touch any strings the curse will be given to you" Linus said and laugh again

"Linus stop scaring our guests, my name is Lynne twin sister of Linus just be careful when you are walking the strings are very fragile" Lynne said and smile at them

"Thank you for reminding us" Veena said and Lynne just nod at them while Linus wink at her that made Scorch furrowed his eye brows

Linus and Lynne are the guardian of the place of strings, those strings are not just any ordinary strings because it holds one creature's future. Linus makes sure that no one will break those strings but he is really playful while Lynne makes sure that the strings color are bright and they are in their position. Guardians of Unknown Places can be cursed creatures or half creatures, they're only job is to guard a certain place and take care of it, Linus and Lynne are half angels half fairy, the strings of fate are important for every creatures because it also connects them to their love ones, friends and special someone but the thing is you can't see your own strings only Linus and Lynne can, so the white string that Linus wants Scorch to touch is a fake strings because he loves to play around with the creatures who step into their property.

Scorch and Veena continued to walk but Scorch being the clumsy angel he is accidentally hit a light green string with his hand when he point the dirt in Veena's hair, Veena and Lynne got their eyes widen while Linus jaw drop because he didn't just accidentally hit it, he accidentally broke it, Linus and Lynne hold the now two strings that is turning gray and cold

"Veena I need your help fixing this before the whole string turned gray" Lynne said so Veena grab Scorch's wrist

"What do we need to do? " ask Veena

"You need to find a the dark blue string with a light green bow" said Lynne so the two run into different direction to find the said string while the twins are doing their best to keep the color of the string they are holding, once the string turns completely gray and cold it means that the future of that creature will be sad, that creature will live alone so they need to find the destined creature for it so they will meet and the string will be back into it's original form and position

Veena use her telekinesis to find the aura of the said string while Scorch teleported here and there

"Veena, Scorch hurry up" Linus said when he felt that the string is slowly turning into an ice, a gray ice to be exact.

"Found it! " Veena said then she use her little fairy powers to hold the string like Linus and Lynne then she teleported it beside the broken string, Scorch teleported beside Veena and they look at the twins who cut the dark blue string and connected it to the light green string, the both strings shines brightly then the light green string return into it's original color and position but there's a dark blue bow in it and it means that they succeed in saving one's destiny

"What is going to happen to the owner of the string? " Scorch ask to the twins

"It will be fine but they are going to meet a little bit early than the time they are supposed to meet before" Linus said while cracking his knuckles

"I'm sorry about the string" Scorch said

"Angel to angel talk Scorch please don't do stupid and clumsy things in other places" Lynne said that makes Linus and Veena to giggle while Scorch just look down shyly

Elena look at her window with sadness in her eyes it's been a day since Scorch didn't appear and she is scared, scared if the hellhound will attack her again but she is glad that no creature is attacking her. She stood up from the couch, grab her jacket, keys, wallet and cellphone then she went out but before she left of course she lock the house, she decided to go buy some groceries because she doesn't have any stocks left in her cupboard and refrigerator, she just decided to walk to the grocery store the weather is just chilly so it is fine for her to walk until she bump into someone

"I'm sorry" she said and look at the guy who have red hoodie, the guy removed his headphones

"Watch where you are going" the guy said and put back his headphone and walk pass her

Elena just shook her head and walk again but the park near her favorite cafe caught her eyes she smile and went inside, some of the children are playing so she sat in the swing and feel the wind that is hitting her face, she enjoyed sitting in the swing since she was a kid, she is lazy too just like what her mother said that's why she doesn't like doing physical activities. The park is quit big and it does have two old trees, small trees too so the park is very beautiful until she notice the guy that is leaning against the old tree looking somewhere so she looks where he is looking and she found the five kids playing tag and running around the park, the girl run when the boy turn to her they just run until they are out of the park but what happened next makes her froze into her spot, the two kids who are running got hit by a truck, the people gathered around and the parents of the both kids almost gone crazy she also saw the guy that bump her earlier went closer to the scene and walk away, she just can't believe she witnessed an accident and those poor kids they are too young to experience that, life is really cruel for all of people in the world.

Instead of going to the store she just went back home and went to her bathroom, she just lay in her bathtub and relax there the accident that she saw it can be her new nightmare that will hunt her until she got startled when a sound of a vase that got thrown into the wall interrupted her thoughts so she hurriedly got dressed and went out of her room

"Who's in there?" She said then went downstairs even if she is scared no one will protect her Scorch is not there so she switch the lights on and she saw nothing but the broken flower vase but the thing that caught her attention is the single dark red rose that is laying in the coffee table with a card, she went closer and read the card

It reads:

I'm sorry

And she must say that the hand writing is so beautiful but who could have leave it there, is it Scorch saying sorry because he left? And why there is a broken vase?

She look closer to the vase but another thing caught her attention and that is the drops of blood she saw on the floor that makes her wants to puke because it smelled really terrible. She just hope that no one will hurt her because she obviously can't protect herself.
