Scene 9: The Storm Breaks
(INT. BLACKWOOD MANSION – BREAKFAST ROOM – MORNING)
The tension in the room is palpable. The clinking of silverware is the only sound between Kara and Sebastian.
Kara, however, is far from her usual hesitant self. She’s not going to sit back and be ignored anymore.
She folds her napkin neatly and sets it aside.
KARA
(calmly, but with an edge) So… are you going to tell me who she was, or should I pretend I didn’t see anything?
Sebastian doesn’t flinch. He simply sips his coffee, unbothered.
SEBASTIAN
You seem to be under the impression that it concerns you.
Kara’s lips curve into a humorless smile.
KARA
Well, when a mysterious woman sneaks into my husband’s study in the dead of night, I’d say it concerns me a little.
Sebastian finally looks up, meeting her gaze.
SEBASTIAN
It’s none of your business.
KARA
(leaning back in her chair) See, that’s where you’re wrong. Because like it or not, I am Mrs. Blackwood.
His jaw tenses, and for the first time, Kara senses something beneath his usual controlled demeanor—annoyance? Frustration?
Good. Let him feel something.
KARA
I know who she is. Isabelle Laurent.
Sebastian’s fingers tighten around his coffee cup, but his face remains impassive.
KARA
She’s back, isn’t she? The woman you never got over.
Silence.
Then, finally, Sebastian exhales and places his cup down with deliberate slowness.
SEBASTIAN
What do you want, Kara?
She studies him, tilting her head.
KARA
(softly, but firmly) The truth.
He holds her gaze, unreadable. Then, as if deciding something, he stands.
SEBASTIAN
Come with me.

Scene 10: Secrets Behind Locked Doors
(INT. BLACKWOOD MANSION – PRIVATE STUDY)
Sebastian leads Kara into a dimly lit room—a different study from his usual one. This one is older, the walls lined with books and the air thick with the scent of aged leather and secrecy.
He walks to a locked cabinet, retrieves a key from his pocket, and unlocks it.
Inside are files, old photographs, and a small, velvet-covered box. He pulls out a file and hands it to Kara.
She opens it—and her breath catches.
It’s a marriage contract. Hers and Sebastian’s.
But there’s something strange. A clause at the bottom, signed by his father.
KARA
(reading aloud, frowning) “In the event of Sebastian Blackwood’s legal marriage, full control of Blackwood Enterprises shall be transferred to him…”
Her heart slams against her ribs.
She looks up at Sebastian, realization dawning.
KARA
You needed to marry. That’s why you chose me.
Sebastian’s gaze is sharp, unreadable.
SEBASTIAN
Would you have preferred a love story?
Her stomach churns. All this time, she had wondered why he married her despite his coldness.
And now she knew. It was never about her. It was about control.
Sebastian finally speaks, his voice quieter now.
SEBASTIAN
My father never believed I was capable of running the empire alone. He added that clause to force my hand. If I wanted control, I had to marry.
Kara exhales, gripping the file.
So that was it. She had been a convenient choice. An afterthought.
For a moment, something sharp and bitter stings her chest. But then—
Something else.
A slow, almost wicked thought creeps into her mind.
Fine.
If this marriage was a business deal to him… then she’d treat it like one, too.

Scene 11: If You Can’t Beat Them… Enjoy the Perks
(INT. BLACKWOOD MANSION – WALK-IN CLOSET – LATER THAT DAY)
Kara stands in front of the floor-length mirror, a silk designer gown hugging her curves.
The stylists bustle around her, adjusting her hair and makeup, making her look like the perfect Blackwood wife.
STYLIST
You look stunning, Mrs. Blackwood.
Kara smirks at her reflection.
Mrs. Blackwood.
The title used to feel suffocating.
Now?
She was going to own it.
She had played the demure, neglected wife long enough. If Sebastian wanted a marriage of convenience, then so be it.
But she was going to enjoy every damn perk that came with it.
The wealth. The power. The influence.
She steps out of the closet, slipping on heels that click against the marble floor with authority.
Her first stop?
A charity gala—where she’d make sure everyone knew exactly who Kara Blackwood was.
And if it just so happened to irritate her cold, brooding husband?
Even better.
Scene 12: The Billionaire’s Wife Arrives
(EXT. BLACKWOOD FOUNDATION CHARITY GALA – NIGHT)
The event is grand—held at one of the most exclusive venues in the city. Paparazzi flash their cameras, the elite sip champagne, and the air buzzes with gossip and ambition.
The Blackwoods are expected to make an appearance.
And for the first time, Kara intends to make a statement.
The doors of a sleek black limousine swing open. A perfectly manicured hand emerges first, followed by the woman who everyone had underestimated.
Kara steps onto the carpet, every bit the vision of power and luxury.
She wears an exquisite black silk gown, hugging her curves like a second skin, with a thigh-high slit that ensures nobody dares look away. Her hair is styled in elegant waves, diamonds glinting at her ears and wrist.
The cameras go wild.
REPORTER 1
Who is that?
REPORTER 2
That’s Kara Blackwood.
REPORTER 1
Sebastian’s wife? Since when does she look like that?
Kara smirks at the murmurs as she strides forward, her confidence radiating.
Tonight, she’s not the neglected wife.
She’s Mrs. Blackwood. And they will remember her name.

Scene 13: An Unprepared Sebastian
(INT. GALA BALLROOM)
Sebastian is already inside, standing near the bar, deep in conversation with a business associate. He’s dressed in his signature black suit, exuding authority as usual.
He barely registers the shift in atmosphere—until the murmurs grow louder.
Then—
A familiar, honeyed voice floats through the crowd.
KARA
Darling, you started without me?
Sebastian turns—and freezes.
Kara walks toward him like she owns the damn room, her confidence intoxicating.
The crowd parts for her.
She reaches him, pressing a hand lightly against his chest, her eyes glittering with amusement.
KARA
I thought we were making an entrance together.
Sebastian blinks, utterly caught off guard.
This is not the quiet, uncertain woman he married.
This Kara is bold, untouchable. And the way the room is eating her up? He doesn’t like it.
SEBASTIAN
(low, unreadable) You’ve been… busy.
Kara smiles, sipping the champagne a waiter hands her.
KARA
Oh, just embracing my role.
Sebastian studies her, his storm-gray eyes darkening.
Something is shifting.
And for the first time in his life—he doesn’t know how to handle it.

Scene 14: Isabelle Strikes
(INT. GALA BALLROOM – LATER THAT NIGHT)
Kara enjoys the attention, laughing effortlessly with high-profile guests.
Then—
A familiar, unwelcome presence.
Isabelle Laurent steps into view, poised and lethal in a crimson gown.
Kara doesn’t flinch.
ISABELLE
(smirking) You clean up well, darling.
Kara tilts her head, unfazed.
KARA
Oh, Isabelle. You’re still here?
Isabelle’s smirk falters slightly.
ISABELLE
Funny. I was about to ask you that.
Kara sips her drink, her smile slow and knowing.
KARA
You should. After all, I am Mrs. Blackwood.
The words land like a perfectly aimed knife.
Isabelle’s eyes darken, but she quickly recovers, leaning in with faux sweetness.
ISABELLE
Careful, dear. You’re playing in a world far bigger than you.
Kara steps closer, her voice a whisper only Isabelle can hear.
KARA
And yet… I’m the one wearing his ring.
Isabelle stiffens.
Kara smiles, brushing past her without another glance.
The game has changed.
And Kara Blackwood is done playing nice.
