The Moon Goddess

*May’s POV*

I was in the middle of a clearing all alone. When I heard something talking to me, I froze in place. I turned to see a bright light and beneath the light was a woman. She was in an all white dress, had a gold bracelet and matching headband with long black hair. Her face was as white as snow and gave me an angelic feeling. I have never seen her before but she brought me a comforting feeling with just meeting her. “W-who are you?” I stuttered. “I am the Moon Goddess my child” She replied back. THE MOON GODDESS!? Why would she waste her precious time talking to me. I heard that she visits very special wolves and Alphas to prepare them for the future. Why would she waste her time with me? I am mere nothing special and I am not an Alpha. “I can see your mind wondering my child. Have a seat and I will explain my hasty meeting” She pointed for me to sit on the ground. I sat under the moon light in the clearing on the freshly dewed grass. “Where do I begin my child” She says while hovering in front of me. “I am sorry for the heartbreak that you received. I know you lived a very hard life and one that I cannot fathom”. She frowns then says, “I have brought you here to tell you about your parents”. My parents? What will the Moon Goddess tell me that I do not already know. They were fated mates that married from a distant pack and my mom gave birth to me. They died in a car accident when I was a young pup and since then I been living in my house with my grandma until she passed away recently. Right now I am with no family; an orphan. “ You may think you know everything about your parents but what I am about to say will be a shock to you. Your parents were not mates”. “What, forgive me Moon Goddess but I know they were mates they told me that they were” I replied. “No my child. Your parents were from close by packs that were feuding at the time. Your father was the Omega and your Mother the daughter of the Alpha. Sworn not to be mates by status”. I was shocked I knew that both my parents were Omegas, I mean I was one too I did not know I had Alpha blood as well. “Your parents met at a mating party to where they were attracted to each other. Your mother had a mate who was an Alpha but she was unhappy. She wanted to be with your father forever they formed a true love bond” The Moon Goddess continued. “A true love bond is rare and will break a mate bond. When your mother asked for my guidance I visited her. She was already with pup; you.” That means that my mother was already pregnant with me before she broke her mate bond. She would have had a bounty on her head from the pack for sleeping with the enemy pack. “So what did my mother do?” I asked. “ Your mother snuck out in the middle of the night with my help and met your father in this exact clearance”. I looked around, this is where my parents found refuge and were able to get away from their packs. I smiled. “ Your father bought a house in this town and shared with an older lady you know as your grandma. She was the caretaker hired to look after you incase anything were to happen.” “So my grandma was my caretaker? What bad things were to happen” I was curious at the lengths my parents went to escape that life. “Your mother and father were wanted and hunted for leaving the pack and ultimately treason. They did not die in a car accident. They were brutally murdered. I am here to warn you to be careful with who you trust.” I started to cry. It is heartbreaking to hear that my parents were murdered for having true love. “Murdered… by who” I asked. “ I cannot say. You need to find that out on your own. I need you to know you are a special wolf. You have the blood of an Alpha and Omega. You are a born warrior, you just need to find your voice” She replied. “ Only that and being beside your mate will unlock your true potential”.

In an instant the Moon Goddess disappeared. I guess she finished her message to me. I had a lot of information just thrown to me too late in the night. I needed to process what she just told me. Now I know that my parents and possibly Grandma were murdered and I was left alone. I needed to do some research on half-blooded Alphas and the true love bond. Both of these are the key to why my parents were murdered. She did mention my mate was the key to unlock my full potential. I never in a million years thought I would have a mate let alone one that would accept me back. I think at the end of the day my number one mission would be to find who killed my parents and to do that I need to find their packs first. I get up off the ground and brushed my backside. I then adjusted my pants and start running towards my home. Once I enter my house I decided to call Betty Joyce. I need her help. RINGGG RINGGG RINNNG Come on pick up I plead. “H-Hello? It is like 2 am what the hell May” I hear Betty say on the other line. “SOS come here right now please I need you” I replied. “On my way and I am bringing my sister too. She is still up taking photos”. “Hey! I heard that” I heard Lilly Rae in the background. I hung up the phone and waited for their arrival to unload all the information I just was given.

*Moon Goddess’s POV*

I have came to deliver a message to my child May. Poor girl lived a life and sadness and embarrassment. I wanted her to know she is not alone and I have greatness planned for her life. I remember speaking to her mother helping her escape the life she was living at Moondusk. She was held in a small room by her father the Alpha at the time who did not want her to live life freely. She was mated to an Alpha that was from a northeast pack of foragers. They were people who did not like outsiders and prefered to be alone. When he found out she had the true love bond he tried to reason with me to kill her true love. I refused. How could one of my children be so cruel? I wish I could of interfered but when they were both murdered brutally I could not. It is not in my nature to I have to let fate take over and decide the outcome. I sat back and watched as May’s parents were brutally murdered bleeding to death all right in front of me. I saw the look in her mother’s eyes when her true love’s head was ripped off his head and gutted like a fish. I saw her pray to me one last time before she was cut into pieces and ripped apart and burned so they do not heal. My children were gone and there was nothing I could do. I weeped for days and came to May’s side giving her comfort from afar when she learned her parents have died in a car accident. I swore from that day to protect May but I have seen great struggle with her. She needs to be strong and break the cycle of being bullied. I sent to her a friend to help her heal and in time find the answers she is looking for. I hope May got my message and to heal her wounds internally with her powers she can save the kingdom from the shambles of the murderers. I will be watching what is next to come for May.

*Betty Joyce’s POV*

I was sleeping when May called me in distress not sure what spooked her but I can tell she was out of breath and crying. I seen that my sister was up and taking selfies again. She always uses my room to take pictures because the mirror and lighting is better she says. I think it is just to annoy me since we both have the same mirror and lighting. I rub my eyes hoping it will wake me up. I can see Lilly Rae is already dressed but I need to put on some clothes. I open my dresser drawer and get some sweats I pull over my shorts and a hoodie over my night shirt. Close enough. “Why are we going to May’s house so late what happened?” asked Lilly. “I am not sure but I have a feeling she is not alright”. We both sneak downstairs and open the door slowly. I make sure it does not slam and lock the door with my keys. I unlock my car and started it up. “Go to the nearest convenience store we need coffee and snacks” exclaimed Lilly Rae. “Fine. But make it super quick” I replied back. I pull up to the closest gas station and unlock my doors. I push Lilly Rae on her shoulder and she gets out my car. “Remember quickly, and do not forget my coffee” I say to her. She nods and goes into the store. 10 minutes later she came out with a bag full of goodies and iced coffees in a tray. I smile and drive off towards May’s house. I can sense that something is not right. I text Ben to let him know I will update him once I get the information so he does not worry about May. “Who are you texting” exclaimed Lilly Rae. I looked over at her, “May” I lied. We get out my car and head to the front door. May opens the door super quick I think she was waiting at the door for us and pulls us inside. She looks around outside and locks the door. “May what the hell! Tell us why you called me so early” I asked. “Upstairs now. I need to tell you both something super f****d up but important” She says frantically. Lilly Rae and I exchange looks then walk upstairs. We all take a corner of her bed.

“The Moon Goddess visited me on my run” May said slowly. The Moon Goddess? She only visits High level Omegas or Alphas that is strange she visited May. “What did she say” asked Lilly Rae. “She told me that my parents were murdered for having the true love bond they were not mates. My mom was also an Alpha with my dad being an Omega. I am a half-blooded Alpha.” She told us. “What!” I exclaimed. “I am so sorry your parents were murdered but did the Goddess tell you why or give you any explanation. “No. She said I have to figure out who murdered them on my own. She said it was for love. She also told me I have a mate.” “A mate!? Who!? Oh my Goddess congratulations!” yelled Lilly Rae. May looked over at her before saying “I need my wolf first but yes a mate, she also said that I am special and need to be more confident to unlock my potential or whatever that meant”. I knew May was special but did not know that the Moon Goddess saw what I did. “We need to keep it hidden that you are half-blooded. For now let's focus on your parents we need answers on who murdered them” I said. May told us that she wanted to go to the pack archives at the academy and research the true love bond and find out more about herself. “For now let's wait and see what powers you get on your eighteenth birthday. I think your wolf is your missing link” I told May. She nods she understood she has to wait for her wolf to uncover her Alpha side. Some Alpha’s receive powers or abilities as depended on by the Moon Goddess I always believed that May was special. We all decided we were going to sleep over at May’s house. Since it was 4am already we decided we would go to school by lunchtime and only attend the afternoon classes. We stayed up late and giggled while eating snacks and watching movies. By 7am we had fallen asleep with an alarm to wake up at 10am. I decided to text Ben and let him know she was stressed about her period. I did not want Ben to know this information about May at all. I could not decide if I could trust him fully yet. I put my phone to charge and fell asleep.
