SEASON 10 — THE BLACK ROSE

659 Words
The discovery of Mia’s surviving sister changes everything. The Black Rose is revealed as an ancient organization connected to the original Moretti bloodline. Adrian and Mia are forced to enter a world far older and more powerful than Matteo’s empire. Mia’s sister becomes the emotional center of the season—but she has been raised to believe that Mia stole the life that should have been hers. Adrian refuses to abandon Mia. But the Black Rose knows exactly how to attack him. Not with guns. Not with money. With family. CHAPTER ONE — THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPH Mia couldn’t sleep. The photograph remained on the table. Three children. Adrian. Alexander. And the little girl. Her sister. She stared at the photograph until her eyes hurt. “Why didn’t anyone tell me?” Adrian sat beside her. “Because someone wanted you to forget.” “But how do you forget someone you don’t remember?” “You were a baby.” Mia touched the photograph. “She looks like Mama.” “She does.” “What’s her name?” Alexander stood near the window. “Isabella.” Mia looked at him. “Isabella Moretti.” The name felt strangely familiar. “Where is she?” Alexander hesitated. “Inside the Black Rose.” Mia stood. “Then we’re going to get her.” Adrian immediately shook his head. “No.” She stared at him. “Adrian.” “It’s too dangerous.” “She’s my sister.” “I know.” “Then I can’t leave her there.” Adrian stepped closer. “I’m not asking you to.” He took her hand. “I’m going with you.” Mia smiled. “I knew you would.” Behind them, Alexander looked away. Because there was something he hadn’t told them. Isabella wasn’t simply a prisoner. She was the current leader of the Black Rose. And she had been waiting for Mia to come looking for her. CHAPTER TWO — THE BLACK ROSE QUEEN The meeting took place beneath an abandoned cathedral. Mia walked beside Adrian. Security surrounded them. Alexander followed. Then the doors opened. A woman stood at the end of the hall. Long dark hair. Elegant black dress. A silver necklace. Mia stopped breathing. The woman’s face looked almost identical to hers. Isabella smiled. “Hello, sister.” Mia’s eyes filled with tears. “Isabella.” “That’s what they call me.” “You’re my sister.” “Yes.” Mia took a step forward. Isabella raised her hand. “Don’t.” “Why?” “Because I don’t know whether I want to hug you…” She smiled sadly. “…or hate you.” Mia’s heart broke. “I didn’t know you existed.” “I know.” “Then why?” “Because they told me you abandoned me.” “I was a baby.” “They told me you were chosen.” “Chosen for what?” Isabella looked at Adrian. “To become the queen.” Adrian’s expression hardened. “Don’t involve my wife.” Isabella laughed. “Your wife?” She looked at Mia. “You married the man who was supposed to destroy our family.” Mia shook her head. “No.” Isabella’s eyes became cold. “He is a Valenti.” “And I love him.” “Love doesn’t erase blood.” Mia stepped forward. “Neither does blood erase love.” For the first time, Isabella’s expression changed. Adrian looked at Mia. She had done it again. She had walked into darkness without fear. Isabella slowly lowered her hand. “Maybe you’re different.” “I am.” “Then prove it.” “How?” Isabella turned toward the doors. “Come with me.” Adrian immediately moved. “I’m going too.” Isabella smiled. “Of course.” She looked at him. “You’re the reason this war will begin.”
