I woke up when the van came to a stop, listening carefully to hear them leave so I could escape. My brows knitted in confusion when I heard multiple voices right outside the van.
"Hey! Get down now!" My heart skipped a beat when I thought they might've noticed me. I waited a few seconds and stood up quietly, peeping through the small window of the van. Confusion washed over me as I saw other vans packed beside this, some group of ladies stepping out of them; they were visibly shaking with fear.
I sniffed the air repeatedly, easily noticing they were rogues, just like me. As silently as I could, I walked back to the van, sitting gently.
I'll just wait for them to leave, then run. They looked really bad and I didn't need anyone to tell me they were involved in big terrible crimes. Where the f**k am I?
I sat frozen, listening as they began walking away, just when I thought they were gone, I heard a deep masculine voice ask. "You smell that?" My breath hitched, panic immediately flowing through my body.
"A rogue." I could hear them sniffing the air repeatedly. "A wounded one." One of them chuckled as they began moving around the van. "Find it." A different deep cold voice ordered, followed by footsteps leaving the van.
I breathed out a small sigh of relief when I heard no sounds anymore. Just as I stood up ready to run, the door to the trunk of the van flung open and bright light shone inside.
I squinted my eyes, raising my left hand over my face, seeing two men with tattoos standing right outside. "We got her." One of them muttered to himself just before I heard footsteps returning.
I swiftly jumped out of the van, throwing my fist at his nose, swiftly hitting the other on his groin. The injuries I sustained previously were slowly healing already, so I still had a little strength to run.
Just when I was about to dash away, I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist, roughly pulling me into a hard chest. The next second I felt a small pinch on my neck and turned around, swiftly releasing myself from the tight grip. One of them who was quite sturdy stood behind me holding an empty syringe in his hand, his lips stretched into a sly mischievous smile.
My hands flew to my neck, palming the spot as I felt my body weaken instantly, an almost unbearable burn smeared throughout my body. The world tilted around me and I slumped to the ground when my legs went weak. The effects of whatever he had in that syringe took over and sent black dots around my vision. My eyelids began to shut just before I heard one of them say, "We take her." Then I passed out.
.
I already woke up but kept my eyes shut when I heard voices in the room I was in. "Don't you think we should wake her?" A disturbed feminine voice asked.
"I don't know, she should be up by now." Another voice replied, clearly perturbed just like the other.
"Come on, wake her up, we don't want them to come and meet her while still sleeping." I could make out three voices speaking but knew there were more in the room.
"Come on just wake her-" The person talking was cut off when the door suddenly flung open.
"Okay ladies, get up, it's time." A deep cold, angry masculine voice yelled. "Is she still sleeping?" I stood up and threw my fists up when I felt a strong hand on my shoulder.
I held his hand, pushing it in the wrong direction, earning a scream from him.
"I advise you to pull that off." My eyes darted to the door when a voice spoke calmly, there were two men at the door already, pointing guns at me.
I looked around the room to see the girls standing at the corner of the room, with pitiful looks on their faces. Do they look at me as a wimp?
Rolling my eyes, I pushed the guy away, regretting it instantly as he turned to me swiftly, injecting a filled syringe into my arm. I hissed as I tottered backward and placed my hands on my head as a wave of dizziness washed over me. I half expected myself to slump to the ground and probably slip into unconsciousness, but I remained on my feet. Feeling woozy with my body numb. "What did you do to me?" I was barely able to speak, it felt like I was suddenly put under a spell.
He held my arm, roughly pushing me to the girls at the side of the room. "Get her ready, we leave in a few minutes." He gave a stern order which made the girls scurry to the small wardrobe and dressing table as the men walked out of the room.
It took a lot of persuasion from the girls before I let them dress me up in a short sleeveless red gown and black platform heels. What the hell did they think they were doing? The dress was so exposed, it felt like I was completely naked.
The girls were annoyingly too wimpy for my liking, they sure feared these people a lot. And that is never happening to me. No one can ever bend me to their willpower. I finally escaped my stepparents. I will escape this.
I glared at the girl who picked on a brush on the dressing table, clearly to brush my hair down. She twitched her lips and moved back slowly, dropping it back on the table. They don't realize they captured a problem and frustration, they don't expect me to go all exquisite for something I don't know and do not expect.
"They would tame you." Another girl, standing opposite, leaning on the wall with short black hair suddenly spoke, staring at me with a plain look.
"Excuse me??" I raised my brows at her, letting her know I didn't understand what she said.
"We were all brave, bold and valiant when we got here, they would tame you. They would make you succumb to their orders."
"It won't happen." Another ginger-haired girl spoke, eyeing her. "She's getting auctioned tonight and might probably find a good, nice owner."
I knitted my brows together in confusion, feeling lost as they spoke.
"Have you ever seen a nice owner?" Another girl sitting on the bed snapped, rolling her eyes. "They're all cruel."
"Anyone care to explain what the hell is going on, to me?" I snapped, raising my voice a little higher than theirs before rolling my eyes, already pissed. "Who the hell is getting auctioned and what the f**k do you mean by owners?" I added, raising my brows at the ginger-haired girl.
"You will understand later." One of them replied plainly just before the door went open and the men stepped in.
"Come on, everybody out!" The girls scurried out immediately and I lazily stood up, walking past the men to head out when one of them, probably one with bigger audacity, grabbed my hand roughly, pulling me to face him. He raised his brows angrily, staring at my messy hair.
"Don't even think about it." I pulled my arms from him roughly and walked away, pushing my hair from my face.
I was even more confused when we all stood in what looked like backstage and the girls were annoyingly avoiding eye contact with me.
I would've grabbed one hard and shoved her against the wall, threatening her to explain to me why we were here if I wasn't feeling so weak right now. I still have no idea what they injected me with, but whatever it was it did a good job of weakening me so I wouldn't be able to put up a fight.
"It's time." A guy said as he walked in.
The girls arranged themselves in a line, putting me in between them before walking into what I understood was the main stage, filled with a lot of people. Lots of men, to be precise.
Then a man walked up to the stage with a microphone over his ear, standing in front of us with a notepad and pen in his hands. I stared around the hall filled with just men, who had alpha auras around them, and stared back at the man on the stage, immediately understanding why we were there. I was about to be auctioned off for sale!
