Elena didn’t sleep she couldn’t.Every detail of that room felt like a violation. Not because it was uncomfortable—but because it was too perfect. Too prepared,too intentional. Morning came too quickly by the time she came downstairs, the house was already active.Staff moving quietly phone ringing. Screens flashing news and there it was—Her face beside her “Alexander Wolfe Marries in Secret Ceremony Her stomach dropped. “You announced it already?” she demanded.Alexander stood near the window, calm as ever. “It was necessary.”For who?” she snapped. “You or your reputation?” “For both of us…She laughed bitterly. “You don’t get to decide that he turned to her slowly.I already did.” Her anger surged.This isn’t a marriage. It’s a prison.” “No,” he said quietly… It’s protection.” “From what?” she challenged.His eyes darkened slightly. “From what’s coming.”The tone of his voice made her pause.Before she could ask— A loud crash echoed from outside glass shattered, Elena flinched. “What was that?”One of the staff rushed in. “Sir—there’s been a breach.”Alexander’s expression hardened instantly. “Where?”The front gate.” Another crash closer this time Elena’s heart started racing. “What’s happening?” Alexander stepped toward her, his voice low and controlled. “They’re not waiting anymore.”Her breath caught. “Who is ‘they’?” He didn’t answer instead he reached for her hand firmly “We’re leaving.”Her pulse spiked. “Leaving? Where?”He looked straight at her “Somewhere they can’t reach you.. just as the power in the house suddenly went out. Darkness swallowed everything.
