A Hit on the Head

935 Words
First year and second year were going okay and not much happened then. At least for me. The school was in danger a couple of times yet Harry Potter saved us all. I didn't make so many friends because Susan told me they thought my face was mean and I was sarcastic. They didn't have that interest to socialize with me despite me being a Madden. Here I was, on my third year, heading to the Great Hall to have some breakfast. I felt awfully hungry this morning and it was only 8 a.m. It was Saturday so no classes today. I had this habit of having my head bent 30° to the floor when I'm walking to watch where I'm going. Today was different since my stomach was in desperate need for food so I was just walking without anything else in my mind but food. What food would be on the table, what I would eat, and so on. I was thinking about a bowl of chocolate cereal with a good milk and a glass of guava juice and some fruit parfait when I bumped into a closing Great Hall door. My head went first. A pang of pain stuck me on my forehead. "Ouch, f**k!! Who the f**k ever close this goddamn Great Hall door?!" I cursed and swore while stroking my head and suddenly the door swung opened again. Draco. Effin. Malfoy. Nice. I didn't intend to prolong my hunger to waste anymore time with him. He wouldn't apologize anyway. I rolled my eyes trying to just go on to the Hufflepuff table and still rubbing my forehead when he showed himself and grab me on my right shoulder. "Hey, Madden, what's up? What's with the red forehead?" "Thanks for asking, Malfoy. This'll bruise." I turned my back on him I went on walking. It was the first time he ever talked to me again since our hellos on the boat to Hogwarts. "Hey! Nobody ever walked away from me like that! I am not finished! Get back here you, badger!" He seemed like howling through the Great Hall and everyone was watching. I didn't even turn my head. I wondered a little about what he called me. 'Badger'? He could do better than that. I kept walking to the table with delicious food on it. And I think I got all I imagined except the guava juice. I sat down, said hi to Susan who was already half way through eating her breakfast. "Y/n, Draco is glaring at you, have you noticed?" "Yes, I know and who cares? I heard he's being an arse to Potter and Longbottom." "I know. Slytherins will always be Slytherins," she said and went back to her food. The food was godly. I went back to my common room immediately because I hadn't showered yet. Shower was also perfect. The water was warm, I just bought a new soap with flowers fragrance. I put on my loose black turtleneck and a pair of dark blue jeans, and picked my favourite pair of brown slip on shoes then set out to the common room again. There was no one there so I decided to continue re-reading Jane Eyre and listen to my ipod. Grace Howard, a first year, came in and said to me, "Y/n, some weird boy wants to see you outside." "Weird? Who?" "I don't know. But his scarf is red and gold, think he's a Gryffindor." "Okay, thanks, Gracey," I said as I hopped to stand up. I wondered who would it be since I had no friends from Gryffindor. The door I swung open led me to a face I knew very well. Not because we hung out often, but he's pretty famous for saving the school. Twice. Yes, the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter. I had no idea why he would show up here in my presence. We talked in the library once because I tripped on a chair and smashed him onto the floor. He helped me up and we chatted for a while about nothing. "Hi, Harry. What's going on?" I gave out a confused look. "Hello, Y/n," he said, a bit nervous. I got nervous as well if someone I talked to was being nervous. So I put my left hand on my back tugging the ends of my long pony tail. I did that everytime i got nervous. "I just, you know, wanted to ask you what happened during breakfast this morning with you and Malfoy. Do you two sort of have a thing?" Something slapped me awake from my nervous system and I laughed. Out. Loud. "No, of course not, why would you assume that?!" I kept laughing until I ran out of breath and stopped and the chuckles took place. "Oh, ok, then. Um, it's just, we are going to Hogsmeade tomorrow. Do you care to join us?" "Oh, I'm sorry, Harry, I don't know if I could go. I got homeworks for extra DADA class on Monday, Snape would Kedavra me if I'm not done. I wonder where Professor Lupin go though." "Yeah, well, that's fine. We could go next time I suppose?" "Of course, I would love to hang out with you, Granger, and Weasley though." "Yeah, ok, Y/n. See you around, then," he said turning away. "Hey, Harry, thanks," I smiled. "No problem," he said, then added, "you know if you changed your mind, I'll wait in front of my common room an hour before we go." "I won't, Harry, sorry, really," and he nodded and walked away. I felt bad.
