Laura had some boring drama on the TV, a Sky production. As she sat on the sofa, her attention turned to a low rumbling coming from outside. "What the?"
Walking from the lounge to Hannah's room across the landing, she stared out of the window. The sound came from several cars moving at once, directly outside her house. Pip's Skyline, Sarah's Renault Clio, and a couple of other motors were parked blocking her driveway. Laura couldn't reverse her car if she wanted to. "What are you up to now?"
Downstairs, in the kitchen, she picked up a pair of her slip-on shoes, headed for the front door, hearing voices. "Hey! You can't park there, guys. You're blocking my drive."
