The Isambard Kingdom Brunel Wetherspoons, Guild Hall Walk was busy with Portsmouth locals for a Saturday night. Students were away for their summer holidays. Looking around, Hannah estimated the pub to be three-quarters full. A few tables stood available.
Sat at a table at the rear of the room in front of the bookshelves, Hannah took a sip of her vodka and Coke, putting the glass back down. Wearing stunning dresses, her best friends Naomi and Maggie sat opposite her, their backs to the bar.
Since moving to Pompey five years earlier, Hannah had two close mates who'd taken her in when they didn't need to. Her best friend was of course Naomi, but after meeting Harper, she had all but disappeared, leaving Hannah with Maggie.
