Laura’s mobile vibrated. Turning onto her back, she picked it up and pressed the power button, the screen lighting up the room, but not enough to wake up Nigel, who lay on his side next to her. Can’t wait to see you tonight. 8pm at the Premier Express. Don’t even think about backing out, Laura.
