Day after

Marlon wakes up stretching his body like a cat, with a big smile on his face. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief, watching the sun never shine brighter. From the dining room he heard his mother's well-known voice: "Marlon, breakfast is ready."      Marlon, all smiling and with a radiant face, runs to the dining room, from which the hot and sweet smell of freshly made pancakes with maple syrup comes. But in that race, Marlon began to think, "How is that possible? Well, this is a miracle !!! How?!? My mother died '?" and then he turned his thoughts in the other direction: "Who cares, it is important that she is here with us now and that we are all together again." He was very pleased that there was no more than a stale smell from the kitchen mixed with the intoxicating smell of alcohol, now there is only the beautiful smell of pancakes with maple syrup.      When he saw his mother, he couldn't believe his eyes, his body lit up and his heart was beating fast like a rabbit's. He hugged his mother so tightly that he thought he would suffocate her from the grip.      His mother Mary looked at him in wonder. -"Marlon, what is the matter with you?" Marlon briefly parted from her to see her face and then hugged her tightly again saying through tears, "I'm not letting you go this time." Marlon simply could not believe that this was the reality and that it was alive. He was afraid if he let her go, he would lose her again forever. In vain, his mother, now already frightened by his "sudden" tears, tried to calm him down, not understanding what it was all about. And then she asked him, "Are you crying over Jason?" (his father).      Suddenly Marlon stopped crying wiping away tears, walked away from his mother looking at her in wonder at the question spoken, and then barely uttered, "Isn't Dad here? What are you talking about, Mother?"      Her mother's gaze wandered anxiously into the distance as if she was looking through Marlon and then she quickly shook her head, looking Marlon straight in the eye, she asked him, "Don't you remember?"     Now already confused, Marlon didn't know what to remember or how everything is possible, he wanted to shout out loud because he didn't understand anything, but he felt that it was about his father, so he tried to calm down.      Marlon just couldn't proceed that much "new" information at once, so he laughed at his mother through tears and replied, "Of course I know, but let's talk about it later." Marlon tried to give himself some time to absorb all the information and then continue to process new ones.      The mother just smiled and nodded affirmatively as she approached the dining room table.
