- 13 - The Subaru had conked out approximately halfway down Horse Camp Road, or equal distance from Little Mountain Road and Wildwood. When I turned the key, I got nothing. Not even a click or a whine. Wilde, I thought to myself, you are so totally and completely f****d! I stepped out of the car and pulled my cell phone out of my pocket. No bars. Figures. I knew I could get a couple of bars back at the stable, so opted to head in that direction rather than the main road where a car might not come by for hours. I grabbed my cane and work satchel, which contained my billfold, checkbook (with a near zero balance), tissues, pens, breath mints, a tube of dried out lipstick, hairbrush, lint balls, and probably a few cough drops with the paper stuck to them. In other words, nothing useful. None
