- 18 - “This can’t be good,” Dad said as he squinted into the sun. The cruiser pulled into the parking lot and Sheriff Olsen got out and put on his hat. Aunt Lin came out of the mod and joined our little cluster. “What’s shakin’?” she said. I shrugged. “Morning’ Ollie,” Dad said. The sheriff nodded at Dad and me and did a double take of Aunt Lin. She had changed from her jeans and flannel shirt to a poison green, flowing caftan, with an equally blinding orange drape around her shoulders.
