Chapter Eighteen HE STUMBLED INTO the cabin, falling to his hands and knees as the transformation finished. His breathing came out in ragged gasps, as he hunched over, his fingers clawing at the wood floor. Everything hurt. His entire body screamed at him as spittle dripped out of his mouth to fall onto the floor in front of him. And the pain had been for nothing. Nothing! This wasn’t working. No matter what his sister did, no matter how many of her crazy experiments she conducted, they were no closer to finding the answer they needed than they were in the beginning.
