Audrey's POV:
When I arrived at the Rosebridge studio, I discovered that the photographer assigned to me was Ryan Cole, the man my mom had once tried to set me up with.
The day I left for Rosebridge, my mom had used one of my dad's belongings as bait to lure me back to the Mercer residence.
Only after I got there did I realize she had arranged a date for me.
"Audrey, this is Ryan Cole. He's very interested in getting to know you."
Ryan stood and nodded politely. "Hello, Ms. Lane. I'm Ryan Cole."
I didn't move. I looked straight at my mom.
"Where is Dad's keepsake?"
An awkward silence fell over the room.
Ryan gave an awkward smile.
"Since Ms. Lane has something to deal with, I'll get going."
Before he left, he gave me a pointed look.
"I'm sure we'll meet again soon, Ms. Lane."
