On the way back, I wandered through the streets of Rosebridge with my thoughts in a tangle. Ryan's words kept circling in my mind. "It's strictly a business arrangement." Then, around the next corner, I saw Nolan and Vanessa entering a hotel together. I couldn't help laughing at myself.
