“Where’s Thoth?” he asked.
“Finding the ancients’ defences. If we can just keep these marauders occupied to show them we’re not an easy take-over, it gives him time to find them, activate them, and destroy their ships.” Juniper gave a grim smile. “Our weapons rely on being able to penetrate their skin. I’m aware that means letting them get down here.”
