Minutes earlier, Alexander was in the store with Thomas, and both were lost when it came to choosing a gift for Emily. It was their first time in a shop like that, so the blonde immediately asked:
“What are the fashionable hats that young ladies of marriageable age wear?” inquired Alexander seriously, addressing the seller.
“This entire section is in season, distinguished sir,” the seller replied. Alexander focused on the hats and found them practically identical. So he said:
“Wrap up your three most expensive hats; for now, I think that will be enough. It’s just a gift, right Thomas?”
“Yes, I think Miss Smith will like them,” the brunette replied, recalling the hat worn by Miss Fitzwilliam. “Those are similar to what the lady who visited the mansion yesterday wore, your majesty…”
