2 Months Later*********
Amelia's POV
The Clan Community Hall, a large and welcoming space nestled at the edge of the forest, was transformed into a magical wonderland for my baby shower. The hall’s high ceilings and spacious interior make it the perfect venue to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my baby girl. Outside, the sun begins to set, casting a golden glow over the surrounding trees and cabins, adding to the ethereal atmosphere.
Since the theme is, “Moon and Stars,” Granny, Angela, Deloris, and the mages beautifully executed our vision throughout the hall.
The hall is adorned with silver and gold streamers hanging from the ceiling, twinkling fairy lights resembling stars, and large crescent moon cutouts. Tables are covered with deep blue tablecloths, sprinkled with star-shaped confetti. Centerpieces feature elegant lanterns and small moon and star figurines. A backdrop of a night sky with glowing stars and a crescent moon is set up for photos, creating a perfect spot for guests to capture memories.
My stunning maternity gown that Angie picked out fits the theme perfectly. The dress is a deep navy blue, adorned with intricate silver embroidery of moons and stars that shimmer with every movement. She chose my headpiece, a delicate silver crown, shaped like a crescent moon, which adds a regal touch to my appearance.
The event was filled with most if not all of the coven members and friends gathered to celebrate, so much joy and laughter. A large table near the entrance is piled high with beautifully wrapped presents. I sit in a beautifully decorated chair as I open each gift, expressing my gratitude and joy. The room is filled with laughter and applause as each present is revealed. Each gift is thoughtfully chosen and presented with love. Some notable gifts include:
From Roland: A hand-carved wooden crib, polished to perfection and adorned with moon and star carvings. His craftsmanship and care are evident in every detail.
From Ms. Deloris: A collection of handmade baby clothes, each piece embroidered with tiny stars and moons. The soft fabrics and intricate designs reflect Ms. Loraine’s love and nurturing spirit.
From Grandpop and Granny: A magical mobile that hangs from the crib, featuring glowing stars and a gently rotating moon. It plays a soothing lullaby, designed to calm and comfort the baby.
Thank you all so much, I said.
"Oh, you have one more my dear. This is from the Grand Supreme Council."
The room quieted as everyone gathered closer, curious about the mysterious gift. My heart, pounding with anticipation, carefully opened the box. Inside was a card and a small, velvet pouch. I picked up the card first, reading it aloud for everyone to hear.
"To Amelia, a warrior of unparalleled skill and bravery. Your involvement in the victory over the Red Claw Pack was not only instrumental but crucial to our success. The Grand Supreme Council extends its deepest gratitude for your service. As a token of our appreciation and respect, we present this amulet to your unborn child, crafted by our finest artisans. May it bring safety, strength, and protection, just as you have brought us."
There was a collective murmur of admiration from the crowd. The Grand Supreme Council was known for its power and influence, and receiving a gift from them was a rare honor. With trembling hands, I opened the velvet pouch and gently pulled out the amulet. It was breathtaking—a delicate piece of craftsmanship that shimmered with an ethereal light. The amulet was shaped like a crescent moon, adorned with tiny, sparkling gemstones that represented the stars. The center of the amulet held a deep blue gem, glowing faintly, as if imbued with protective magic.
I could feel the power emanating from the amulet, a soothing warmth that spread through her fingers. It was clear that this was no ordinary gift; it was a symbol of the Council’s respect and a powerful tool to safeguard her child’s future.
“This is… incredible. I’m so honored.” I said.
Grandpop, standing beside me, leaned in to take a closer look at the amulet.
“It’s more than a gift. It’s a symbol of the Council’s trust and faith in you. This amulet will protect your daughter, just as you’ve protected so many others. I'm so proud of you, Lia.” Grandpop said while giving me a great big hug.
"Alright, now it's my turn, wait one moment everyone." Angela then turned, and scurried off to the lobby. As the celebration continues, a hush falls over the room when Angela reappears with the Seer, an elderly woman with a mysterious aura, enters. Her presence commands attention, and everyone senses that something significant is about to happen.
Angela, knowing Amelia’s desire for insight into her future and her baby’s future, has invited the Seer to the shower. I sit and watched as the Seer approached me with a serene smile.
“Amelia, I have come to share a vision of the future for you and your daughter. May I?” She said.
I nodded, feeling a mixture of anticipation and curiosity. The guests gather around, eager to hear what the Seer will reveal.
The Seer gently takes my hand in hers, closing her eyes and murmuring an incantation. The room grows quiet, and the air seems to thrum with a mystical energy. After a few moments, the Seer opened her eyes, which began to shift to a light blue color, she began to speak, her voice low and resonant.
" Your daughter will be a beacon of light in a world that often dwells in the shadows. She will possess great power, both from her sorceress heritage and her werewolf bloodline. This power will draw many to her—some with hearts full of kindness, others with hearts tainted by darkness.”
All I could do was listen intently, my hand grip tightening slightly as the Seer continued her reading.
“There will be a time of great challenge and strife. Darkness will loom over her, threatening to engulf her spirit. She will face trials that will test her courage and her resolve. But know this, Amelia—she will not face these challenges alone. The bonds of family, friendship, and love she forms will be her guiding light.”
The Seer’s words painted a vivid picture, as if I could see for myself, both frightening and hopeful. My eyes flicker with worry and determination.
“As for you, Amelia, you will find love, your MATE, and bear more children!!! But before that can happen, a series of events will keep you both apart for a moment in time. Your path is intertwined with your daughter's. You will be her protector, her mentor, and her greatest source of strength. There will be moments when you too will feel the weight of the darkness. But your unwavering love for your daughter will be your shield and your sword.”
A soft murmur spreads through the room as the guests absorb the Seer’s words.
“In the end, there will be hope. This child is destined and will rise above the shadows, bringing light and peace to those around her. Her journey will inspire others, and through her, a new era of harmony will begin. Remember, even in the darkest times, hope will shine through like the stars in the night sky.”
As the Seer finishes her reading, her eyes turn back to their natural deep brown state, and she releases my hand. The room was silent, the gravity of her words hanging in the air. I took a deep breath, feeling both the weight of the prophecy and a newfound sense of purpose.
“Thank you, Seer. Your words mean more than you know ,” I said to her.
The Seer nods, offering a gentle smile before stepping back. Angela stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
“Whatever comes, we’ll face it together. You’re not alone, Lia.” Angela then wrapped her arms around me, and placed a gentle kiss on my cheek.
Adonis came to the other side of me and placed his hand on my shoulder, "We got this boss, no one is going to mess with our family and not suffer the repercussions."
I looked up at him and smiled, "Thank you big brother. And thank everyone for coming. It means the world to me with all the support and love that you have all shown. Now everyone, let's enjoy the rest of the evening with this delicious food, drinks, and games!!!!"
A buffet-style spread offers a variety of delicious foods, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. Star-shaped cheese and crackers, mini quiches, and vegetable platters with moon-shaped dips. A selection of savory dishes, including roast beef with moon-shaped potato wedges, star-shaped pasta salad, and grilled chicken with a constellation of herbs and spices.
The dessert table is a highlight, featuring a stunning cake shaped like a crescent moon, cupcakes topped with edible stars, and a variety of star and moon-shaped cookies. There is also a chocolate fountain with fruit skewers and marshmallows for dipping.
Sparkling beverages, punch bowls with floating star-shaped ice cubes, and a selection of teas and coffees. For the adults, there is a signature cocktail called “Starry Night,” a mix of blueberry vodka, lemonade, and a touch of glittering sugar on the rim of the glasses.
Angela and Granny made sure that the baby shower included fun games and activities that kept the guests entertained and engaged.
Guests write down their predictions for the babies' birthdate on star-shaped cards and hang them on a “wishing tree.” A table is set up with paper and pens for guests to suggest names. The slips of paper are placed in a decorative jar for me to read later. Also, guests who bring a pack of diapers are entered into a raffle to win a special prize.
As the evening winds down, guests gather for a final toast. The room glows with the soft light of the decorations, and a sense of warmth and community fills the air. Angela stands up to give a touching speech about my strength and how I will be an amazing mother. Granny and Grandpop follow with a few words about the joy of welcoming a new life into the coven.
Ronald makes a toast for me and the baby, wishing us health, happiness, and a future filled with love and adventure. The guests raise their glasses, the clinking of crystal punctuating the heartfelt wishes.
The baby shower was coming close to the end where some guest were lingering behind. I'm not going to lie, the food and drinks had you coming back for more than seconds. But there is a sense of reflection among the guests. The Seer’s reading has given everyone a lot to ponder. I felt a mixture of anxiety and hope, knowing that the road ahead would be challenging but filled with love and support.
As the evening came to a close, I looked around at my friends and family, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. I know that, no matter what the future holds, me and this baby will have the strength to face it, surrounded by those who care for us deeply. Friends and family still mingled around, their conversations filled with excitement and anticipation for the arrival of my baby girl. Everything was going perfectly until the doors to the hall opened, and a hush fell over the crowd.
Angela saw the look on my face, then turned in the direction that took my attention, and yelled out........
"WHAT, THE F**K, ARE THEY DOING HERE!!!!?"
