My first thought was that the item was rather gaudy and looked cheap. It was about a foot long, oval, with gold around the edges and a giant peacock in the middle. My second thought was that someone must’ve forgotten the decimal point in the price tag. Neither thought was helpful. The platter weighed a ton. Holding it up, I tilted it into the light and let my eyes blur. A few weeks ago, I’d had some luck learning to scry, which helped me solve a murder.
