Chapter 3

733 Words
The bell rings and we all jump, laughing as we grab our books and hustle to our next classes. Unfortunately I have to deal with the future Alpha and his bitchfriend in this class. Our current Alpha doesn't acknowledge me, but he refuses to believe I'm cursed and let's me stay in the pack. His son Rafe, on the other hand, has made it clear that when he's Alpha I'll be banished immediately. Sofiana, his girlfriend, thinks she's going to be the next Luna even though they are not true mates. "Oh look, the dalmatian made it to class on time" Sofiana snarks, giggling. She knows I can't do anything or I'll piss off Rafe. So I just smile sweetly at her. I know it pisses her off. "Don't compare that mixed up trash to a cute dalmatian babe" Rafe always has to go a step further then everyone else. I proceed to my seat, making sure to watch out for tripping obstacles like Alpha feet. I forgot to watch my back though, and I was busy trying to calm Hanna down. She was snarling, disliking the dog reference. Next thing I know I feel a sharp shove on my back as someone grabs my legs. My books fly out of my hands as I desperately attempt to avoid smashing my face into the floor. I didn't succeed. "Miss Hunt, please gather your books and go to the nurses station. I will send your homework there." Mr. Mickel is a good teacher but he hates confrontations, even when he's not directly involved. "Yes sir" I hurriedly gather my stuff and hobble out of the room. I make my way to the nurses station slowly, thinking about my escape. I can't wait to graduate and find another pack that is more open-minded than this one. The nurse looks me over quickly and says I'll heal. She hands me a wet wipe to clean the blood from my nose and lip, then goes to her office while I start doing my homework. "When we leave this horrible pack we will find our mate. Then we will show everyone how special we really are!" Hanna is doing her best to make me happy again. She worries when I get quiet. I send feelings of love to her and I feel her relax. I'm just thankful lunch is next. I can't handle another class right now. When the bell rang I quickly made my way down to the cafeteria. I grab my food and quickly go to our regular table to wait for Mac and Ray. I keep my head down so I don't cause a confrontation with anyone. It doesn't work of course. "Well if it isn't the spotted freak." This from Brayden as the twins walk by. They go sit with Sammy, Sid, and a bunch of their friends. This is a pack school so everyone here is from our pack. "Girl! We been standing at your locker waiting for you!" Mac scolds as she sits down across from me. Ray sits beside me and studies my face. "Who hit you and did you whoop their ass?" he asks as his eyes darken with anger. His wolf is showing and he's pissed as well. A low growl comes from him before he can stop it. "Control, Ray" Mac says even though her eyes have darkened as well. "We will find out who has hurt our girl and pay them back." "No, we will let it go. We can't take on the Alpha's son and expect the Alpha to let us leave, much less back us about creating our own pack." My statement brought shocked looks to the faces of my best friends. I haven't discussed making our own pack yet. I actually just thought of it while waiting for them to show up. "Um, we're creating our own pack?" Mac asks quietly, looking like she's really thinking about it. "Are you serious about this?" Ray asks, looking slightly troubled. "If you want to leave with me, like for real, then yes. I would really like to create a pack where people who are 'different' can join and feel comfortable." Ray and Mac exchange looks. I'm starting to feel a little insecure now. "I mean, I'm not trying to pressure either of you into leaving. You're still going to be my best friends no matter what!"
