  "To derivate x^2 you just have to multiply x's coefficient by its exponent. In this case it would be 2 multiplied by one. Then you must subtract one to the exponent."   "Ok, so the answer to this one is 2x?" Noah says doubtfully.   I chuckle. "Correct. Now, that's just the basics of Calculus. For derivatives and integrals, you mostly have to memorize formulas."   "I'm good at memorizing." He says with a laugh.   "I know." I reply with a smile. It's only day two of studying for the contest. Noah's response has been really good. To be honest, I thought he would be tired of math after the first hour. Then again, it was his idea.
