CHAPTER NINETEEN PRIYABirds fly overhead in no pattern as the sun shines on me, warming my skin. The boat gently rocks back and forth, swaying with the ocean waves. A sense of calm falls over me as the wind whips through my hair. A cold drop of water falls on my forehead, and I wipe it off. Then more start to fall. Suddenly, two strong hands wrap around my neck. I can’t make out the face; the lack of oxygen blurs my vision. When I’m about to pass out, the hands toss me into the water, and I see the blue of the ocean. I gasp for air just in time to stop myself from falling out of the tree. “Damn, that was close,” I say out loud to no one.
