Leah felt like the air had been knocked out of her lungs. An extinct bloodline? She had spent her entire life being ignored, cast aside as an Omega, and now Logan was looking at her like she was something more. Something dangerous. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she forced out, shaking her head. Logan didn’t look convinced. “You’re lying.” Leah’s jaw clenched. “I’m not. Leah frowned. “What is that?” Logan flipped it open, running his fingers over the yellowed pages. He stopped at a faded illustration—one that made Leah’s blood run cold. It was her pendant. But not just that. The symbol was surrounded by words she didn’t understand, except for one. Moonborn. Logan exhaled. “Your pendant isn’t just a relic. It’s proof.” Leah’s heart pounded. “Proof of what?” Logan looked up, his silver eyes dark with something unreadable. “That you don’t belong to any ordinary pack.” Leah swallowed. “Then where do I belong?” Logan hesitated. Then, in a voice barely above a whisper, he said: “To the lost royal bloodline.” -
