The Truth Behind The Blood

438 Words
Leah stared at Logan, her breathing unsteady. The words "lost royal bloodline" echoed in her head, making her feel like the ground beneath her was shifting. “No,” she whispered, shaking her head. “That’s not possible. I’ve always been just an Omega. A weakling. The pack—” “The pack lied to you,” Logan interrupted, his voice sharp. “They knew what you were. They just never wanted you to know.” Leah clenched her fists. Her entire life had been defined by rejection, by being nothing more than an afterthought. And now he was telling her she was supposed to be important? “You expect me to believe this?” she asked, her voice laced with bitterness. Logan didn’t waver. “Believe it or not, the truth won’t change.” She tore her gaze away from him, her hands trembling. The pendant against her chest suddenly felt heavy—like it had been weighing her down her entire life. “Then tell me everything,” she said finally, meeting his gaze. “All of it.” --- The Forgotten Bloodline Logan exhaled and pulled out the old book again, flipping through its delicate pages. “Centuries ago, there was a ruling Alpha family known as the Moonborn,” he began. “They weren’t just powerful, Leah. They were different. Stronger. Faster. Almost untouchable.” Leah’s stomach twisted. “What happened to them?” Logan’s eyes darkened. “They were slaughtered.” A shiver ran down her spine. “All of them?” she asked. “That’s what history says,” Logan murmured. “But there were rumors—whispers that a single child was hidden away.” Leah’s pulse pounded in her ears. “You’re saying that child was me?” Logan nodded. She stumbled back, her head spinning. It was too much—too impossible. “How could I be part of something so powerful when I’ve spent my whole life being weak?” she asked. Logan’s gaze softened, just slightly. “Because you were never weak, Leah. You were suppressed.” Her breath caught. “What?” “The reason you’ve never shifted. The reason you’ve never felt strong enough. Someone bound your abilities.” Leah felt like she had been punched in the gut. Bound? Her strength wasn’t missing—it had been taken from her? “How do I break it?” she whispered. Logan hesitated. Then he said, “We’ll have to find the one who sealed it.” Leah swallowed hard. And for the first time in her life, she wanted to know who she really was.
