Chapter 30

“Miss Iris? There is someone to meet you.” Alan informed me while I was furiously typing on my keyboard entering few key notes.

“Let them in.” I smiled at him without stopping for once.

He nodded and left and out of nowhere, I breathed deeply enjoying my favorite male cologne. It definitely belonged to only one person.

“Yes Aiden?” I stopped and pushed aside the MacPro while gesturing him to sit.

He studied me for a moment and something changed in his eyes. They looked… latent? Like I said, I cannot decode people’s feelings from their expression but something about those eyes couldn’t let me take my eyes away.

“Hi baby. What are you doing?” He asked still gazing at me like he would bore holes on my body.

“It’s Iris… not baby. Anyways, what do you want?” I was trying my best to cover my excitement followed by that endearment from him.

He chuckled and shook his head.

“I am amazed how accurate you could get. How did you manage to find about the Hoover?” He asked seemingly interested.

“I just followed my intuitions and once you declined the investigation part, I did it myself. I even saved your ass from feeling sorry later.”

He laughed hard now. “I realized now that that little ‘intimate’ action was just to stop me from bidding that day?” He asked wetting his lips in the process with his tongue.

My mind was observing and storing all the trivial actions. I managed to nod in the process.

Alan came in with two coffee mugs for which I thanked him gratefully and Aiden looked pissed about something.

“Who is he and why does he keep staring at you with those droopy eyes? I already hate him.” Aiden complained like a petulant child.

I refrained hard from spitting out the coffee on his handsome face. He looked mature and manly than before but he had grown arrogant as well.

“He is my boyfriend and we decided to settle for office romance, so that does explain his droopy eyes isn't it?” sarcasm heavily heard in my voice.

But I was unaware about the confusion Aiden felt right now. From my serious face, he couldn’t make out whether I was kidding or not.

“Don’t Sunny. Don’t you even think about it.” Aiden glared at me as I shrugged not giving it a damn.

“Why Aiden? Last time I checked, I didn’t take orders from you.” I spat at him.

For a minute I saw him take deep breaths to calm himself before giving me that charming smile. “But you’ll from now on.”

His words surely surprised me.

What does he imply here? What makes him believe that I would even listen to him?

“Really?” I asked while standing up and making my way towards him. I bent to be eye-level to him, hands on my knees.

“Can you fight my lovers then? No… wait! Are you willing to fight my Derek?” I teased him enjoying his sour face.

“Try anything with him and I will personally kill him. You can even try and find another man for yourself. Whoever will dare to even choose you will be eliminated from your world, Love.” He snickered watching my horrified face.

“In that case… I wish you luck honey.” I smirked pulling away, making my way to the chair.

Aiden was confident that it is his fiancée and he will now prove it to herself.

When she was about to leave for her apartment, Derek rushed inside her office closing the door behind.

“Hey! Congratulations sweetheart. Your decision at that critical moment is very appreciated by everyone in the organization and they have decided to put that project under your guidance.” Derek excitedly said as he hugged me.

“I am so proud of you… They really sold that falling off company without anyone know about its financial degradation. Cool! Thanks to you, we could have lost millions for that.” he kissed her forehead.

“Yea me as well... Anyways Derek, I wanted to use the credit cards and account; mind giving me the details?” She asked still trying to pull him away.

Derek’s eyebrows rose. “Why? I can get you others you know.” He said while studying her.

“What’s their use then? When I am filling Iris’ place, I can very well use them.” She titled her head and hands on her hips.

He sighed and nodded. He can always have a track on it anyways.

She was rushing fast because Linda and Erik were back. They had planned a dinner together and spend the night going to a bar and loosen up a little. She had invited Dylan and Grayson too. As she entered the parking lot, someone bumped into her before engulfing her in a bear hug.

For a moment she was alert and about to use her taekwondo moves but sensing her startled; Erik and Linda called her name.

She relaxed reciprocating their actions. Soon, Grayson stood in front of her and she felt shy seeing him observe her with a ghostly smile on her lips.

“Hey!” He breathed and others could sense the awkward situation between them.

It was like they weren’t sure to hug or shake hands but it was short lived when Dylan ran and wrapped his arms around her waist, picking her up. He swirled her in the air as she let out a shrill to let her go.

Grayson and Erik felt uneasy with sudden affection. “That was great girl.” Dylan set her down and kissed her cheek soundly.

Their eyes widened even Linda couldn’t believe that. Iris rolled her eyes and pushed him away rubbing her cheek.

“Don’t kiss me Dee. I hate that!” She said nonchalantly but grinned lightly.

“Can we go already?” Erik said annoyed from their closeness. He isn't aware who this guy was but he didn’t like it a bit.

They enjoyed this little get together trying to learn about one other. When they were done, they headed towards the bar.

Grayson studied her secretly. The black turtle neck top with long sleeves and the grey pants looked simple but elegant. She had pulled her hair out of ponytail as she shook her head strongly to settle her curls in the way she wanted. She was beautiful; as beautiful as he remembered her.

They were drowning themselves in alcohol when Aiden barged in followed by Derek. They gripped her shoulder before turning her to face them.

She was astonished to see them here.

“Oh hello handsome! How come you are here… together?” she was curious.

Weren’t they enemies of each other? Then why are they together now?

“Why didn’t you answer your phone?” Aiden asked narrowing his eyes on Grayson and Dylan before settling back on her.

“Hell… where is my phone?” she turned around asking the others who shrugged.

“What are they doing here?” Derek pointed towards Grayson and Dylan.

“Oh they??? Here, meet Grayson Davis; he is my friend and Dylan; he is the one I am seeing lately.” She crossed her arms across her chest smirking.

“What?” Everybody was stunned to hear her reply specially Dylan who spurted out water on the table.

“Is that true Dylan?” Aiden asked with pure hatred giving him ‘Dare-to-say-yes’ look.

“Uh… Well… I…” Dylan was scared with just that look and pleadingly glared at Iris for putting him in this situation.

“Why do even care? What brought you here at the first place?” Iris asked infuriated.

“You” Derek answered coldly.

They were scared because Evelyn was nowhere to be found since that day and she wasn’t picking up her calls. So, they asked their detective to trace her and came directly to seek the answers.

She rolled her eyes taking her seat which made him mad. How dare she ignore me like that?

They were now sitting beside her as none dared to utter a single word after that. Dylan had excused himself  and left because he didn’t want to unleash the beast with the wrong idea of him dating his fiancée. Shortly after, two guys much younger approached her and Linda asking if they could buy them a drink.

She wanted to laugh out loud but managed to nod making the other two jealous. They just stared to see where she could take this before being serious.

The guys were pleased to hear it and one of them excused himself to join after few minutes. They were talking eagerly when red label was handed to Iris. Her stomach churned at its smell. She wasn’t a fan of alcohol so she winked at the bartender who took the hint and replaced it with the usual.

Aiden thankfully took it smirking to himself. Another glass was offered which she secretly put aside before taking her flavored drink. The other was gulped down by Derek. She was grateful to Joe to have been understanding every time she wanted to mask her non-drinking habit.

They guy was watching her giddily as if he was waiting for something. He saw how Linda started feeling uneasy after some time but Iris was still calm and composed. The guy watched his friend questioningly who just shrugged in response.

Before they could leave with Linda, Erik stopped them finding it weird.

“She wouldn’t leave dudes. You may go.” He commanded as the guys stared at him.

It was suddenly turned to commotion where Erik was asking them to f**k off but they were being adamant to take her with them. It soon turned out to violent where they were being beaten up by Erik and Grayson. Iris was trying to stop them when they heard the chorus.

“Why is it getting hot in here?” 

She snapped her head to watch Linda, Aiden and Derek with sleepy eyes getting zoned out.

They started roaming their hands over themselves trying to ease off the heat when she called out for Erik. The others stopped and saw when realization dawned.

The drinks were spiked with Aphrodisiac!

The guys ran away soon after that as Erik ran after them. Grayson held Linda and before things turn out ugly, he left with her informing Iris. She was left with the guys thinking what she was supposed to do.

It was Joe who suggested her to take them away because someone might get their pictures and it would ruin them. With his help, she managed to get them to the nearest hotel and into a room because she was about to run out of gas. She cursed herself for not fixing this up beforehand.

She didn’t have phone and there wasn’t any idea about what she could do with them. As she paced around, they were already moaning and groaning scaring her to her wits. She tried to console them, make them sensible but nothing worked.

She suddenly remembered that getting them a bath may help so she started working on it. They were already stripping down as she tried to look away and hold Aiden to bring him to the bathroom.

To her dismay, as soon as she touched him he lost his control and pulled her closer before claiming her lips. She stunned and fell backward bringing him with her. She fell almost on Derek who pulled her into himself kissing on her shoulder and neck while taking her hand towards his manhood.

She started crying pushing them away but their strength overpowered her.
