I had managed to delay Ryder for a few more days, using my remaining time with the vampires as an excuse, but I knew I couldn’t put it off forever. I had tried to use my time wisely, but each wolf I tried to convince, to turn to my side, had the same resolve as Zander. I couldn’t hide forever and the best defence is a good offence. My brothers, father and mother even stood against me, they too determined to secure my safety. As a last ditched attempt, I had finally told Louisa and Jamie the truth and after they got over the initial shock they surprised me by also siding with Zander, without even hearing his side of things.
