Chapter 1

Cyrus's phone rang for the nth time..he looked at the screen, seeing Mia displayed on it made him ignore the call again. He picked up his glass and emptied the content in one swift gulp. "Just answer her. You know she is not going to stop calling." Mason, Cyrus's friend said. He spoke while turning to Cyrus because he was busy sniffing on a girl's hair, who was sitting on his lap. That was typical of Mason. He is always interested in any girl that comes their way. At the end, those girls are after Cyrus. They are only trying to get close to Cyrus, through Mason. The girls couldn't get through Ethan, he is a loyal boyfriend. Unfortunate for them, Cyrus is never interested in relationships. He was more of a one 'night thing only' kinda guy. Although, he gets a girl comfortable around him. Make her think he is serious about their relationship. Then he will let them down hard. That was the part that gave him satisfaction. Seeing the girls breakdown for him. The same thing that was done to him by the woman, who was supposed to be the most important one in his life. Cyrus ignored his friend, just as he ignored the call. Doesn't she get the message?! She was just a booty call.' he thought, silently. She should get the message already?! The phone rang again and Cyrus rejected the call again. He got up and went to the bar for another drink. He sat on the bar stool after getting the drink. "Mind if I join you." A female voice said from his side. Cyrus turned to the voice. He was greeted with a blonde lady, wearing a red dress and had red lipstick on. She looked at him seductively. Giving him a kind of look that he was used to from women. 'I could bury myself inside her for the night.' Cyrus thought to himself. "Sure." He replied with a smirk then ordered her a drink as well. Looks like I was going to have a good night after all. Cyrus left Mason in the bar. He told the friend that he was leaving with the blonde lady in red dress. "I love your eyes. So green, so unique. I could get lost in them." The blonde lady said in a seductive tone. Her hand finds its way into Cyrus's hair. "I get that a lot." Cyrus responded with a slightly smug grin and immediately held her hand and put it down. They finished with the drinks and went to her apartment, where Cyrus spent the night. He left very early the next morning, while she was still asleep. Without even knowing her name. Neither did he give her his. That was fine by Cyrus and lucky for her. Cyrus didn't have much time to stay in his small town, Plover. It was almost time for him to leave for college which was in Bourgeois Town. If he were to stay any longer, he would have gotten to see her for two more times, before disappearing from her life too. Breaking a woman's heart gives him the best feeling and satisfaction. The same as his heart is broken beyond repair. Women are heartless and wicked. They do not deserve any treatment but the same treatment they give. And I have volunteered for that course. ------------------------ A day before Cyrus left for college, he went for drinks with his friends one last time before leaving. They were at the club for a few hours into the night, already wasted. Four different girls already approached Cyrus. He wasn't in the mood that day. So he turned them down in a heartbeat. "If you don't want the attention, just send them our way. Don't just send them away." Mason said. "Your way." Ethan corrected. "I have a girlfriend whom I love very much. So thank you very much." He added, raising his glass. Cyrus and Mason groaned at the same time, a few books ringing out around us. They were so used to him always talking about his girl and how much he loves her. "I don't know how you guys did it, or how you are still doing it, but damn! I cannot do it." Mason voiced out. "Dude. It's like having pizza, with the same toppings everyday for the rest of your life." He added with a grimace face. Ethan focused on his drink and did not comment on Mason's words. Ethan has been with his girlfriend, Jenny, since like 4th grade. They still seem to be very happy together. Disgustingly so. Both Cyrus and Mason think. However, Ethan paid no attention to their comments and is still loyal to his Jenny. "I can't believe you will be leaving town tomorrow and we might not see you for a very long time. That has never happened." Ethan said. "We will do just fine while you are gone. And besides, the girls will finally notice me". Mason smirks, brushing his hair away from his face. "You are not the only 'hot guy' in this town, you know." he quotes the 'hot guy' in the air. Cyrus chuckled and said, "In your dreams," he nudged Mason's shoulder. Ethan laughed too at that. "Hey! I spent a lot of hours in the gym everyday and yet, you get all the attention. That is just not fair." Mason whined. He gulped down a whole bottle of beer at a go. "Mason .... You can have them all for all I care. I am not the relationship type, you know that. So I never stood in your way of choosing a girlfriend. They are the ones just not choosing you." Cyrus teased and smirked Ethan's way. Cyrus and Ethan wound up laughing at his expense. Mason only rolled his eyes. "Oh come on Man. You know I want a serious relationship. You probably should have one too already." Mason spoke. His face is all serious now. When they started talking about relationships, that was when Cyrus lost it. It was one of the words he hated 'relationships.' especially when it was directed at him. Cyrus was boiling inside. His face turned red but couldn't be noticed by his friends because of the dim light in the club. . Cyrus abruptly got up and stormed out of the club, hitting people out of his way as he went. He was already tipsy, but went on nonetheless. When he exited the club, that was when he recalled leaving his substance with Mason. He felt the need to sniff some so he had to go back and get it. "Damn it!." Cyrus cursed before storming back into the club. "Let me have my stuff." Cyrus spoke a bit loud so he could hear through the loud music, blasting in the club. Mason reached for his back pocket as he spoke in a loud voice too. "Hey man. Sorry about what I said earlier -" "Just f*****g give it to me." Cyrus said and yanked the item away from Mason. He stormed to the bathroom of the club and sniffed the drug to his heart content before he left the club. Cyrus walked by the side of the road. He was already feeling his anger subsidize. Almost forgetting why he was angry to begin with. It was 11pm when he left the second time. Walking by the side of the road with no specific direction. "I can get home on my own." He said out loud. "It's not that far." He convinced himself more and kept going. Without knowing he was going the opposite direction of where he lived. Following a shortcut to make the walk quicker, he found himself in a remote area. Before he could register where he was at, a heavy rain started to fall. 'I could swear the cloud was clear.' Cyrus thought to himself. He found a place to hide from the heavy rain. That was when I saw a person's figure approaching him. Cyrus squinted his face to get a better view of the person, but it was all in vain. The heavy rain and the darkness of the night prevented that. One thing he could make out of the person was her hair. She had red hair just like the woman that made him hate all women. That anger was starting to build up again. Cyrus didn't care about the downpour anymore. He wobbled towards her and grabbed her hand. She yelped in pain and held on to her hair and said, "Hey! what - what are you doing?"she was startled by Cyrus's action. The red haired starts to struggle against his hold. I ignore pleading and struggles, Cyrus starts to pull her by the hair. Where was he taking her to? That was a question even Cyrus had no answer to. "Please let me go," she cried.
