“It’s six o’clock. I’ve got to get your vitals and give you your meds before I finish my shift. I just checked the roster and your day nurse will be Todd. He’s a great nurse and will take excellent care of you.”
“Will I be able to go home today?”
“That’s up to the doctor. She’ll be by to see you in a few hours. She did say you could begin a normal diet today. Here’s the breakfast menu. Just circle what you want and we’ll bring it to you. Your boyfriend must have been exhausted. Most people can’t get comfortable enough on those chairs to get into a deep sleep,” Connie said, looking over at Danny asleep on the foldout chair.
