Chapter 3

285 Words
Owen wrapped his arm around my waist. "You like this, Mandy?" "Don't." The sensation, tangled with my racing thoughts, made me tip my head back, trying to pull away. "Your face is so red." I said quickly, "It's just the heat from the spring." He smiled softly, saying nothing. His long fingers brushed through the warm, steamy water, lending his whole face a soft, captivating glow. His white shirt was soaked through, and the faint lines of his abs showed clearly beneath the wet fabric. I pressed my hand to his arm to hold him back. "Not here." But his lips followed right away, closing over my sensitive peak, his teeth grazing lightly against it. "You taste so sweet." I was just about to tell him to stop messing around, when he suddenly went still, his gaze locking straight on mine. "Are you planning to break up with Adrian?" "I'm not." At least, not right now. I had no intention of letting those two get away with everything scot-free. The moment I said that, the air around us seemed to turn cold. Owen pulled his hand away, shifting back to put space between us. "So what is this then? You want me to be the other man?" His dark, clear eyes held the mist of the spring, and I could see a faint glint of hurt there. I frowned, confused. My mind felt all tangled up. 'What was Owen getting at?' I'd been the one to reach out first, and he'd met me more than halfway. I'd just thought... he was here for the same casual thing I was. But the way he spoke made it sound like he wanted to be my real boyfriend?!
