Pre-Dawn – Back in the War Room Giovanni entered.
“Luca sent a message.”
Dante stood. “What did he say?”
“He wants to meet you both. Together. No weapons. Neutral ground.”
I frowned. “That’s a trap.”
“Definitely,” Giovanni said. “But it might be our only shot.”
Dante stared at me. “You don’t have to go.”
I lifted my chin. “I’m done hiding. We face him. We will end this.”
Aurora entered from the hall. “Then you’ll need bait.”
I gazed at her. “What do you mean?”
She handed up a little silver locket. “He thinks I still work for him. Let me step in first. Give you an opening.”
Dante shook his head. “If he suspects anything, he’ll shoot you on sight.”
Aurora shrugged. “Better me than her daughter.”
