The final shockwave had torn the mountain’s heart in two, and now the world above pressed down like it wanted to bury us alive. Heat blasted through the dust-choked darkness, followed by the crunching thunder of falling stone. My ears rang from the detonations of Kieran’s magic burning itself out, but my wolf’s hearing still caught every splinter, every groan of rock above.
