The man's unforgiving gaze was enough to make Eliza cower in fear. She has no clue what the significance of the cold ruby necklace hanging around her neck holds. As the jewels emit a soft mystical glow in the darkness, the strong figure becomes more irascible. His eyes shone brilliantly in the night, not letting Eliza out of his sight. He must get that ruby necklace back at all costs.
Eliza couldn't bear the man's strident gaze any longer. She looked away in fear of his red piercing eyes burning holes into her skin. He then lost the minuscule amount of patience he had left. He swiftly threw Eliza up against a cold stone wall, consuming them both in the moonlight. Eliza yelped in surprise as the brisk stones chilled against her back. The ominous man's handsome features are sharp, almost inhuman. His skin was icy to the touch, making a warm embrace almost impossible.
The impatient man reached for the necklace, making Eliza gasp. She couldn't move an inch. She quickly turned her head away and squeezed her eyes tight to settle her senses. Once the man's large hand wrapped around the glowing jewel, it burned into his skin with an unforgiving resilience. He quickly let the necklace go, letting out a soft hiss in pain. His anger levels began to rise as he grabbed Eliza's face and stared straight into her eyes. Eliza then shut her eyes once again as she began to hyperventilate in fear.
"Look at me," the man said in anger. After Eliza didn't comply with his command, he became furious. "Look at me!" He demanded, his grip around her fragile limbs tightened as his very presence intimidated her. Eliza's eyes slowly flickered open, almost falling into a trance by the man's translucent eyes. "Give me the necklace," the man said once more. Eliza soon broke the trance and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
He was livid. He punched the stone wall behind Eliza, making a hole the size of his fist in it. "You don't know what this is made of... Do you?" His bright red eyes slowly shifted to a soft blue, matching the hue of the moonlight. If he couldn't compel her to do his bidding, he'll just convince her to hand it over.
Eliza's soft emerald eyes looked up into his blue ones with suspicion. "Well? Have any clue what this is made out of Disraeli?" He questioned, his expression is unreadable. Eliza swallowed a large lump in her throat so she could at least try to talk, but nothing dared to escape her lips. "Eliza, come on dear we don't have all day." He said as his eyes flashed red but only for a moment, making sure that she knows her place.
"You see," he began, letting go of her. He began to pace the alley to test the girl. "That necklace is made of jewels that were bestowed upon us by the seven original vampires." Eliza's eyes widened in realization as she looked down at the necklace. "It was made to protect weaklings like you," he paused for a moment, turning around to meet Eliza's gaze. "From beings of the night. From the cold ruthless undead. From me." He said as he closed his distance between them, placing his hand above her head.
His throat let out a soft cackle as he looked into her eyes. He used the other hand to lift her chin to make sure she was staring directly into his eyes. "Do you know why that jewel glows a vibrant color of red love?" He queried softly with a small smirk creeping onto his lips. "Because it has the blood of one of the seven originals. This will make you a target." He said gravely. His eyes wavered for a split moment, flashbacks of bloody scenes the past entailed lurking in his mind.
Eliza quickly caught onto this, making her timid expression turn to one of confusion. "Eliza... You will not live long without protection." He said as he backed away from her into the shadow of the building, engulfing him in darkness. "W-Wait!" She exclaimed softly, her voice barely even audible. "I thought you said that this necklace would protect me?" The man's footsteps faltered. For a moment, a small moment, there was complete silence.
"It's more complicated than that I'm afraid." He said, not turning around. Soon the man had disappeared into the very shadow of the building. Eliza's weak knees then gave from under her, making her fall limply to the ground. The sun slowly rose in the horizon, greeting Eliza's skin with a warm embrace. If only that would quail her fears.
