“So, tell me about your latest book.” Stuart Browne held the microphone close to Kerri’s mouth without being invasive. As he leaned close to listen, his cane shifted to the side of his chair and made the flames that ran up and down it glow orange.
“Well, Dante Under Ice is a dystopian horror novel, one of the first I’ve written of that kind. It’s about Mickey Alan and his wife, Starla, who are forced to confront a pack of creatures that live under the ice. When it starts to melt in a too-early spring thaw, the creatures are released. They flee into the woods where their problems only begin to grow, especially as they realize they’re headed into a parallel version of Dante’s underworld.”
