Aurelia's POV The rain started the moment I stepped out of Caesar's car, as if the universe had decided my night hadn't been humiliating enough. By the time I reached my apartment building, I was soaked through—my dress clinging to my skin, my hair plastered to my face, my shoes squelching with every step. Perfect. I fumbled with my keys, hands shaking from cold and exhaustion. Just perfect. No cabs had stopped. Three Ubers had canceled on me. And Caesar—that bastard—had driven away without a second glance, leaving me to walk six blocks in a downpour. If I had a wolf, I wouldn't get sick from this. The thought burned as I finally got inside, stripping out of my wet clothes with clumsy fingers. If I had a wolf, I could heal faster, stay warmer, be stronger. But I didn't have a wolf. I
