CRAY-CRAY Later that morning, when Jeff makes it home, I have breakfast ready. I made burritos filled with egg, hash browns, a little onion, and green chili peppers. I’d also cut up strawberries and cantaloupe, and placed both on a pretty platter, along with a pot of fresh coffee and cold OJ. “Hey, Jeffie!” I smile. “Did you make this for me?” His surprised gaze washes over the spread. “Oh, no!” Disappointment sweeps over me. “Did you eat at the hospital?” “I’m sorry, sis,” he sighs, looking like I’ve stomped on his favorite toy. “It’s okay.
