Coercion and exclusion

Luna Merritt once had a great affection for Silas Blackwood. Early intervention for autism is particularly important. Missing intervention treatment before the age of three, even if Luna later underwent DNA repair, still left her with very serious sequelae. Before Julian was sent away, he and his brother tried many post-intervention methods. Most of these methods were reward-based, such as if Luna could correctly assemble a comic book, she would get an extra piece of candy after dinner, and vice versa. At first, Luna did not do well, often asking Julian for candy and being refused, which made her throw tantrums. Luna's thought process was like this: she only knew that she wanted to eat candy, but Julian refused her. The feedback mechanism in her mind had not been fully established, and she could not understand that Julian meant“you have to finish this task first before you can eat candy.“ This line of thought has more or less been preserved to this day. For example, the doctor, even though Luna knows that the doctor is doing good for her by treating her, does not prevent her from preferring Silas Blackwood, who is always there to fulfill her requests. The person controlling her may not be a bad person, Luna already knew that. But no one told her that those who are good to her might not be good people either. Blackwood indulged her, mostly out of laziness, because he didn't spend much thought on her, nor would he put on glasses like Julian, staying up late to watch documentaries about AS patients, then eagerly seek out Luna the next day to try. He spent over a decade coming to this realization: Luna Merritt could not be taught or nurtured; no one would ever step into her world, which is the cruel nature of children with autism. In the years right after Julian left, Luna felt completely liberated; she could do whatever she wanted at home without anyone caring. She was immature, and Blackwood didn't inquire about her. With a multifunctional robot and enough money, Luna could have whatever she desired. He became busier and busier. He used to live with Luna, but gradually he started coming back once every few days, and later he stopped coming back at all, moving to a house near the alliance company. At the beginning of each month, he would come to see her. When he came, he would just sit for a while and leave. Seeing Luna quietly watching cartoons, he wouldn't ask anything, just handed her the sweets he brought for her. After Luna finished eating, he left. So, under these circumstances, Luna drank cold milk and ended up with a stomachache, and for a time, she was in the intensive care unit. Her immune system is very weak, and she is lactose intolerant. The Blackwood brothers used to only give her processed milk and goat's milk, but when Luna bought snacks herself, she only saw that cow's milk looked the same as the goat's milk she drank, not knowing the difference. This incident directly caused Blackwood to miss three important meetings, and after this, Blackwood called the doctor to have her accompany Luna all day. At that time, Luna woke up from anesthesia and saw Blackwood's gloomy face, yet she felt very happy. She called him,“Jules.“ She mistook him again.“Jules“ is what she calls Julian,“Silly“ is what she uses to call him. “Is Omega this delicate, or is she the only one so delicate?“ Blackwood spoke, but not to her; he was asking the doctor outside. The doctor looked at the patient she might have to care for for the rest of her life through the sterile partition and smiled reassuringly,“It's like this, sir, she's still young, you need to be a little more patient with her.“ Luna widened her eyes and looked at Blackwood, filled with affection as she wanted to give him her hand. She couldn't read people's expressions, couldn't tell the difference between a smile and a cold face, and couldn't pick up on subtext. She could only tug at Blackwood's sleeve, placing her pale, frail hand, covered in pinpricks, into his. “Even stray cats learn to purr for their keepers after a decade." Blackwood did not avoid her gaze, only lowering his eyes to look at her Luna looked at him, unable to follow his train of thought, and simply asked,“Jules, are we getting a cat?“ The doctor sighed. The docter and the medical team under Blackwood is the most professional in the entire alliance. Luna's thirteenth year was a turning point; during this year, she underwent various surgeries, narrowly escaping death several times, and surprisingly managed to pull through. With the doctor's professional corrections and interventions, Luna gradually learned how to communicate normally with others, mastered the lessons appropriate for her age, and sometimes even displayed behaviors that were completely opposite to those of typical autistic patients—such as lying, acting coy, and cautiously testing the waters. As this situation increased, Luna also had an increasing possibility of approaching normalcy. The doctor's greatest wish is that one day, Luna can walk out of here like other children her age, living freely and joyfully, and this goal is now in sight of success. But who would have expected that the change would come from Silas Blackwood? After working hard for over a decade, it all returned to square one in an instant. Luna Merritt, who had always liked Blackwood, suddenly showed a strong resistance and rejection towards him. This sense of fear even caused Luna to lose the enthusiasm for communication that the doctor had cultivated over the years. The longer she spent with Blackwood, the more severe this reaction became. As long as Blackwood was within Luna's line of sight, Luna would not utter a word. Out of ten hours, she needed to stay in her own safe zone for eight hours, without eating or drinking. That day, after Luna finished telling the doctor about Blackwood's condition, she immediately hugged her teddy bear and changed her position. She returned to her small bathtub, drained the water and dried herself, laid down a quilt and soft pillows, and snacks inside. This time she was smart and learned to lock the door from the inside. For the first time in so many years, the doctor saw Luna react so strongly. Blackwood's complexion was not good; the doctor was afraid that in a fit of anger he might crush Luna, that heartless little thing, and kept smiling apologetically,“Perhaps there was a problem with my treatment plan. The cartoon I changed for Miss Merritt yesterday had elements she didn't like, so today she's quite agitated...“ “What are you afraid of?Relax,I don't make habits of devouring wounded birds,“ Blackwood said casually. The content of the words isn't very good, but the tone is surprisingly calm. The doctor sighed, then mustered her courage:“Master, actually, regarding Miss Merritt's situation..with respect... perhaps let her live freely? However brief. These walls..."She gazed out the window,"No life for any soul……she can't stay cooped up in here for her entire life.” After so many years of being together day and night, she had long regarded Luna as her little sister, and not just an employer. Blackwood's expression was unusually calm,“An unclaimed Omega loose in the city? They'll carve her up before dawn.“He sneered. “Then she at least has to go see her relatives, go back home and take a look...“ The doctor felt her words were somewhat powerless. The struggle she fought for Luna could only be so weak. Visiting parents? The ordinary separations and deaths of people, the moral principles of human relationships, do not apply to AS patients. She had seen so many cases, many autistic children immersed in their own worlds, indifferent even when their closest loved ones passed away. The doctor instinctively felt that Luna would be better off anywhere than staying by Blackwood's side. “I am her guardian. I know what you're worried about, I'll assume bonding rights. I'm expecting my permanent residency here." Blackwood said.“I will be her alpha, and Schedule whatever treatments her condition requires.“ * Luna will eventually have to sleep, no matter how long she stays in the safe zone. In the dead of night, the keyhole of the bathroom turned gently. Blackwood unlocked the door and looked down to see her curled up in the bathtub, looking a bit pitiful. Luna was eighteen, much taller now, her body straddling the line between girlhood and womanhood, and this bathtub was the same one she had slept in as a child. She seemed unaware that she no longer fit in this place, nor did she realize that she could no longer hide in the coffee table in the living room; she simply remained as determined as ever to return to these few places. Blackwood reached out, his hand gliding from Luna's neck, his fingertips gently pressing on that gland. A powerful pheromone was released to its fullest in that moment, enveloping the entire bedroom and surrounding her. Luna quickly woke up, opened her eyes to look at him, and the fear in her eyes was immediately suppressed before it could surface, leaving her feeling bewildered and helpless. Blackwood gently pressed on the life point of the small Omega in front of him, using his breath to calm her down. Seeing that she did not move and did not resist too violently, he bent down, passed through the bend of her legs, and gently picked her up. During this process, Luna's teddy bear fell out of her arms, but he immediately caught it and stuffed it back against her chest. Before Luna could get upset, he had already soothed her. Luna looked at him in confusion, unable to escape the sweetness and tenderness given by the alpha, yet the fear in her heart could not be dispelled. Blackwood carried her to the bed, tucked her in, and gently lay down with his back to her. That was a non-interventionist, non-oppressive stance. Luna was a bit curious. After waiting for a while, she thought Blackwood had fallen asleep, so she quietly got up, wanting to return to her little bathtub. Blackwood's voice came through:“Luna.“ She was so scared that she immediately lay back down, wrapped herself in the blanket, and hugged the teddy bear tightly. Blackwood fell silent. Luna waited for his ultimatum, but after a long time without any response, she finally gritted her teeth and sat up. Like a thief, I got out of bed and ran to the bathtub. She didn't want to stay by his side for even a moment longer. Luna was so nervous that her fingers were sweating cold; it wasn't until she successfully reached the bathtub that she remembered she had forgotten her little bear, but she didn't have the courage to go back again. She didn't know how she managed to get in this time—anyway, this person could do anything, and if he really got angry, she didn't dare to lose her temper with him. Luna decided to be a little more obedient. She lay in the bathtub, turning her head to look outside. After half a day of silence, she finally felt a little relieved. She was wide awake, staring at the sky outside the bathroom window, watching the black gradually turn into a smoky blue, then into a faintly translucent white, knowing that the next day had already arrived. She then stepped out of the bathtub, pretending nothing had happened, and lay back down next to Blackwood, hugging her teddy bear and starting to sleep. Blackwood should be getting up, and she could continue sleeping here, just saying she wanted to sleep. That way, she wouldn't have to talk to him or eat with him. Luna felt a bit anxious and realized the urgency of“getting rid of this person“—her schedule had been completely disrupted these past few days to avoid Blackwood, which made her very uncomfortable. As she expected, Blackwood got up after a while and walked out the door. Luna was thus able to breathe a sigh of relief, not being discovered, and he was not angry. So she climbed back up and returned to the bathtub, this time truly falling asleep. In the living room. The fingerprint lock beeped twice, and the doctor walked in while yawning. Upon seeing Blackwood sitting in the living room smoking, she couldn't help but be taken aback:“Up early, sir? Did the young mistress... protest last night's arrangements?“ Blackwood shook his head. That means being very cooperative. The suggestion to soothe Luna with pheromones was proposed by the doctor. Since Luna is now reacting strongly to him, the first thing to do should be to help Luna accept him again. The doctor smiled,“It seems that she doesn't dislike you that much; it's just a child throwing a tantrum.“ Blackwood still had no expression:“Hmm.“ The cigarette was crushed and stuffed into the trash can before it was even halfway smoked. The doctor squatted down to rummage through the coffee table for evidence of Luna's snacking yesterday, explaining to him the method of“gradual progress“—but when he looked up, Blackwood had already closed his eyes and had fallen asleep slumped on the edge of the sofa...
