Chapter 7

It's been 6 years since I've come to this back. After the ordeal with Mark and the old alpha, Conner took care of me. He told me about an ability he has, that allows him to know what people are feeling. He knew I wasn't a threat because he could feel how terrified I was the whole time.

A lot of the pack didn't want here, but it was people that went through the attack 16 years ago. Most of the new generation wanted me here so I got to stay, there was a huge uproar about it. Now people treat me with respect... Well most of them, a few give me glares here and there. I also trained hard to become a fighter, even though I haven't shifted yet.

I know it's embarrassing, I'm almost 19 and haven't shifted yet. They did find out what hybrid i am, I'm a witch/ werewolf hybrid. They say my mom must of been a strong with or something, cause I'm really strong. I have the basic powers, but werewolves and witches don't communicate, so it's hard to learn anything.

I usually spend my days doing what Conner used to do, but for today I'm sleeping in... Well I was until Victor came over. I was just sleeping in my bed when he burst through my door.

" Wake up sunshine!. " He yells as he comes in.

I jump awake. " Really dude, I finally have a day to relax. "

" Not when I'm here. "

I grab my clock and throw it at him, and he dodges.

" Oh c'mon don't be like that, Conner is busy with his alpha duties. "

I groan in frustration. " I wanna sleep. "

" Really. " He grabs his phone and looks at the time. " It's almost noon-thirty. "

" Noon-thirty, really. "

He chuckles to himself. " Yea noon-thirty. "

I chuckle slightly and roll over. " Let me sleep for a bit longer. "

He sighs. " Okay then, I was gonna give you your birthday present. "

I roll over and face him. " Birthday present. My birthday is in two weeks. "

He smiles. " I know but I have to head back to my clan soon, so I wanted to take you out. "

" When are you leaving? " I ask

" In a few days, I wanted to do something with you before I left. I wont be able to see for a few months. " He says as he pouts.

I sigh. " Okay pity party I'm getting up. "

" Yay. " He says jumping up and down.

I sit up in bed. " What are we doing. "

He stops jumping. " I'm taking you into town. "

" What. "

" I know, I know okay. Just get dressed and we'll head out okay, and put on something pretty. " He says as he walks out of my room and closes the door.

I groan and get up. Why is he taking me into town, I've never really been there. I mean I was a few time, but I mostly stayed in the car. I'm not good with people.

" Hurry up. " I hear him yell from outside my door.

I groan in frustration. " Give me a minute, Jeez. "

I hear him chuckle. I go through my closet and grab some black jeans and a plain black shirt. I close my closet and walk out my bedroom door.

" Is that what you're wearing. "

" What else am I gonna wear. "

He nods in agreement. " That's true. I'll get you some new clothes then. "

" You don't have to. "

He smiles. " I want to. Now come on. "

We start walking and head out the door, and start walking towards a car.

" Why do you still sleep in the basement, you can get a room actually inside the house. "

I shrug my shoulders. " I don't know. I really like it down there, it's Peaceful. " I chuckle. " I don't have to deal with Spencer. "

Victor chuckles as well. " I know right. That kid has way too much energy man, he literally climbed up the wall yesterday. "

" Holy s**t, oh my god. " I chuckle. " He's a good kid though, just too much energy. "

" Yea. "

We reach the car and he opens the passenger side door, and I get in. He goes around and gets in the drivers seat.

" Where are we going. " I ask

" The mall, I'm taking you shopping then we're going to dinner. "

" I've never been to the mall. "

" It's pretty big and shouldn't be to busy today. "

He starts up the car and starts driving.

" You know how to drive right. " He asks

" Yea I do, Conner wanted me to learn. "

" You can drive us back if you want. "

I shrub my shoulders. " I don't know. I've never driven in city streets before. "

" Oh that's fine, I guess i'll have to teach you then. " He smiles.

We drive down a long dirt road and get on the highway. It's only a 15 minute ride into town, and we mostly just chat along the way. The streets were busy and it took us a while to get to the mall, but we made it.
