Training?

I wake up to banging and I jump up scared. I look around confused a realized it was the front door. I get up and cough a bit and head for the front door slowly. I reach the front door and look out the small window. It's our betas. Why is he at my door.

I unlock the door and open it. " H-hello. " I stutter.

" Raven. Sorry to wake you. May I come in. "

" Umm sure, but my dads not here. "

He sighs. " I know. that's what I'm here to talk about. "

" Okay. "

I let him in and we walk to the living room. Theo is our strongest beta and is really nice, and good friends with my dad. He motions me to sit down and I do and he stands in front of me. He looks really sad and concerned.

" I'm sorry to have to tell you this but your father. " He takes a deep sigh. " He uhh got attacked really bad yesterday. "

" Is he all right. " I say worried.

" No he. " He takes another deep sigh. " He didn't make raven. I'm so sorry. "

I look at him shocked. " W-what do you mean. "

" We were heading back and got surprised. Your father was in front and got hit pretty bad. We tried to get him back here as quick as we could but..... he didn't make it I'm sorry. "

" What. No he can't be. He said. He said he was gonna come home. He can't be. " Tears start to fall down my cheeks. " He said he was gonna come home. "

" I'm so sorry Raven. We tried everything. "

I start to cry and bring my hands to my face. Theo kneels down in front of me and tries to hug me, but I push him away.

" No. Leave me alone. " I scream.

" It's not best to left alone during a time like this. "

" Please leave me alone. " I stand up and run to my room.

" Raven. " He shouts.

She walk to my door and tries to open it, but it's locked.

He sigh. " If you need anything just call or come over, okay. I'll be right here if you need me. "

I just lay in my bed crying into my pillow. I cried for along time and soon fell asleep. I wake up in a shock and run to my dads room. I fall to my knees when I realize that it's empty and my dads gone.

" No..."

I just stay there crying some more. I cry for a long time till I hear another knock at the door. I stand up and walk towards it still crying. I look out and see our head beta Lucas. I slowly open the door.

I let out a strained. " Hello. "

" Hello Raven we never really met. I'm Lucas. " He stares at me.

" I'm Raven. " I stutter

He nods. " It's time to go to the training grounds. "

" What. Why. " I ask confused.

" Seeming as though your father is gone we gotta train someone to take his spot. Since your his daughter you gotta start training to take his spot. "

" What. I just got told a few hou- "

He cuts me off. " If you wanna stay in this pack you gotta start training. We don't want weaklings in this pack. If you don't cut it were gonna kick you out."

I start to fill with shock. My father is dead and they want me to start training. I don't understand whats happening. I can feel tears falling down my cheeks

He groans in frustration. " Seriously. "

He grabs my arm and starts dragging me away from my house.

" What are you doing. " I shout

" Taking you to the training grounds. Most kids start training this early anyway, the reason you didn't was because of your father. Training will be harder for you so hurry up. " He shouts back Angrily.

He drags me all the way to the training grounds and throws my in line. I look down the line and everyone is giving me judgmental looks. I look down and notice i'm not wearing shoes, I wasn't even wearing proper clothes. I was still in a baggy shirt and shorts.

I stood there looking down till I heard the head beta talk.

" Okay, today is the first day of training. First you'll do 5 laps around and meet back here, and we'll show you a few moves. Now start moving. " He shouts.

Everyone starts to run and I join. I don't even make it past the first lap before I start to cough. I fall to my knees and start having a coughing fit. Lucas comes over and yells at me. I try to get up but can't get up and continue coughing. He grabs my arm and pulls me up.

" C'mon get up and start running. " He yells

He pulls me to my feet and throws me forward and I just fall to the ground. He groans in frustration and kicks my side.

" Really you are useless. Your father should've just gotten rid of you. Instead of doing all of that crap to keep you here. " He groans again and just walks away.

I lay there holding my side and coughing.

" Hurry and get over here. " I hear him yell.

I get up coughing a bit and slowly walk towards everyone. I stand in line holding my side.

" I'm gonna show you some defensive moves first. I'll need a volunteer. "

No one raises their hand and he looks a me. " Raven come over her. "

I slowly walk over and he grabs me and turns me around. " I'm going to do some attacks and I''ll then show you how to defend against those attacks. "

He put his arm around my neck and squeezes and starts to choke me a bit. " For the first few times this happens to you, you'll flail a little bit but you'll soon learn to defend fast. "

He lets me go and I cough a bit and rub my throat. A few more hours of Lucas doing attacks on me and letting others to. It finally ends and I head home and just cry. My dad is gona and I haven't even been able to mourn or anything.

I push my face into my pillow and cry harder. I want to see my dad, I want him to pet my head like he usually does. I miss him and I want him to come home. I lay there crying non-stop till I fall asleep.
