Bren’s pov
I get to the house a quarter after five in the morning. The drive is hectic. Lisa opens the doorbell and jumps into my arms immediately “God, you're alive” I roll my eyes because she is such a drama queen.
“We need to talk”
She walks me into the living room “Where is Jared?’’
“He’s safe” I assure her.
A smile plasters on her face “Good, that means you got him out then?” I nod again but the thing I am finding hard to say to her is that we are going to have to leave. Lisa is the only family I have in this town, so she is the only one I don’t want to leave behind but we have no choice.
