Chapter two

Theodore POV

One month before…

My beta Ben walked in with a mesmerising envelope and pile of papers on his hands; he gave me the papers and kept the envelope not forgetting his signature toothy smile…

The guy is always on a happy mood I don’t know if it’s because he is getting laid every minute of the day or what but to tell the truth his always been like this since we were kids. It’s annoying sometimes and I always have that urge to remove it from his face. I shake my head and put my one day is one day dream aside and give him the most stain facial look I can master.

“Beautiful morning to you too mister” says Ben

“…”

I rolled my eyes at him and took the papers he just gave me and put them aside.

“Your presence is requested at the coming of age Ball of Princess Samara Pearl White, Daughter of King James and Queen Amalia White of united kingdom”

“It says here the ball will take place on 14th of March 2025, wow on full moon night.

You will have a long night if you ask me, but if anyone can make it through that person will be the mighty Theo” he eyed me and cleared his throat and continue reading the invitation

“The time is 7o’clock in the evening and it’s a masquerade ball so make sure you buy a mask”

I stood up from my chair moved to the window and said “send them my apologies and find something girly for the princess.”

“I have a lot of work to do, I don’t have time to socialize with humans and listen to their boring stories all night.” I finally looked at my beta and gave him grin of my own.

“Theodore no you can’t just say that, you do know that before you are Alpha to the werewolve world you are also the king of Slovakie kingdom.

 Now as Alpha and King of both worlds you have to represent us at this Ball, this will be good for the public eye and who knows maybe you will find the future  Luna Queen there.” He ended his every year speech and took a seat on the couch.

I signed and pinched the bridge of my nose; I just hate it when his right but I guess that’s why he is my best friend s***h beta s***h adviser.

“Fine I will go, arrange everything for me! Ohh and do pack your bags and buy both of us those masks while you at it…if I am going to attend a ball full of humans and smell their intoxicating perfumes I might as well take you to help me with the torture I will be getting.” He tried to say something but I just waved my hand and sent him out of my office.

I was so busy on my thoughts thinking of what Ben said about me finding my Mate, will she really be at this party?

Everyone my age found their mates when they turned 16th but here I am mateless. Ben met his Mate Hannah when we visited one of the packs outside the country; she is the daughter of the delta of Gold pack and that was last year and the two have been inseparable.

I sometimes find myself envy what they have… and start to question the moon goddess about when will my mate come to me, or am I cursed and not worthy to have true happiness.

Will I ever find true happiness too? Will I ever find the sparks that every mated wolf talks about?

My classic answer that I always come up with is that I am paying for all the bad things I am doing and how much the moon goddess is punishing me for my deeds.

“Would you stop mopping like a drama queen? We will find mate and she is going to fill our hearts with happiness and lots of love and lots of pups” my wolf Hunter said

“Hunter it’s been 6 years now, and we searched everywhere for her but still called find her. We even went to the humans residing to search…when will she come?” I asked him and he just signed and went to the back of my head.

I searched everywhere and every Pack and every human civilization but no sign of my mate.

Seven years ago i lost my parents on rouge attack, they were outnumbered and i took the pack and responsibility of the kingdom as Alpha king to the werewolve world and king of Slovakie, everything changed that night, and has never been the same ever since then.

I looked at the portrait of my parents on my office wall and signed heavily.

I still remember that day like it just happened yesterday, that day not only did my parents died…it killed the innocent me and raised the beast within me completely.

(Flash Back..)

It was Sunday evening when mom told dad that she wants to go on a date at the human resident since they have nice restaurant one can dine at. Dad never said no to her since she call mom his sunshine and melody to his beating heart, he asked Lincoln his beta and Ben’s father to make reservation for two at some new restaurant that just opened.

I remember begging them to tag along and their said its date night and I am not allowed to go with them.

Mom said “One day when you have your own mate you will understand Theo, but right now it’s your father and I to have quality time together and you will tag along next time. Don’t you want us to have quality time outside the pack?” she asked giving me her ocean blue puppy eyes I never resist to give in at

“Okay fine, but promise me that you will bring something for me when you get back”

She nodded her head and smiled at me.

“Dad walked in from his closet and said “Violet is right Theo, so be a good young Alpha and take care of the pack while we are away. I better come back to my pack still in one piece or you won’t live to see your mate.”

Mom smack dad’s head and said “Richard will you stop threating my baby”

five hours later…

I head howls outside and decided to go outside just when I heard a knock…

Lincoln knock on my door with tears on his eyes kneeling before me and said my parents were attacked on their way back from the city. I didn’t believe him I kept on laughing and said he is joking until I saw Ben’s mom Chloe embracing me in a hug.

I broke the hug and ran to the pack clinic and saw everyone gathered around and I walked in and saw my mom in a hospital bed, I took small steps to her and kissed her forehead she looked at me smiling

“My son, my handsome little boy…

Promise me that you will love your mate and cherish her like your father cherished me!”

I kept on nodding my head and told her she will be okay and she just smiled at me coughing blood “shhh mom, don’t talk like that you will be okay…”I said while she wiped my tears, she pet my right cheek and said “Rule wisely Theo, and know that I love y…” she let go of my cheek and I let out a loud growl

I kept shaking her, asking her to wake up but she never did. Tina the pack doctor walked towards the bed apologies and started to cover my mother with the white cloth.

I ran out of the clinic shifting mid-air running to the forest, I let Hunter take control completely.

I could hear howls of the wolves crying for the fallen Alpha king and Luna Queen…I kept running until I stopped at my parents favourite midstream and let out a sorrowful howl.

I was woken up by birds chirping around and the heat of the sun…I shook my head and told Hunter to take us back home.

I didn’t know that I was crying until I started to hiccup… I wipe my tears and saw that it was already after lunch and I have to get ready for my meeting at the city with one of my business associate.

I walk out of my office towards the stairs; I don’t work at the Castle office because it reminds so much of my parents. So I decided to have an office here at the packhouse since dad never worked from here.

I saw Hannah walking in to the library and decided to follow her. “Hannah do you know where I can find Taylor?” Taylor is my 2nd Beta, yes I have two betas and one gamma and one delta I know I am too much but all four of them makes my live easy.

“I saw him running towards the board with Ryan and Kinsley” she said. Ryan and Kinsley are my Gamma and Delta

I just nodded and walked out mindlinking Ben that he will find me in the car.

I mindlink Taylor “Beta what’s going on at the boards that made your run there all of you?”

“Alpha there few rouges that were spotted around the boards 30min ago, we just came to check if everything is in order and patrol with the guards.” He replied

Hunter let out a deep growl “Did you find anything?” I asked Taylor and he said nothing so far but they will keep on patrolling.

Hunter let out a deep throat growl…”I hate those mutt..”

“Okay, Ben and I are going to the city, take care of the pack while I am out” I said to him.

“Roger that Alpha!”

Ben gets in the car with a Tupperware in hand and hands it to me

“Mom says, she knows that you didn’t have anything to eat and you must finish everything in there.”

I just nodded and open the lid only to see Chicken Alfredo,

 I started eating quietly and had a soda once I am done with the food. “Did you have these or Chloe just decided to make it for me?” I asked Ben and he said

 “What do you think?” he said sarcastically

I chuckled and shook my head; Chloe always cooks my favourite food for me and let her son have a sandwich.

I honestly don’t know where I will be with Ben and his parents, ever since the passing of my parents they have been there for me. Especially Chloe! When I shut everyone out she never gave up approaching me and giving me the motherly support that I needed the most.

The driver stops at Knight Corporation and we got of the car, making a bee line to the entrance of the building. Everyone started to greet me, I just ignore them and walk to my private elevator and get it. Ben press 30th floor and type in the code.

30th floor is the last floor and to reach it you need a code and only Ben and I know it since it’s the presidential floor, only my office is situated on this floor.

I heard the ding sound and the elevator opened, I walk out towards my office and take a seat and start prepare for the meeting.

I rarely come here since I do everything at the packhouse I only come when I have Business meeting or conference meetings with potential clients, other than that I make my appearance in this place for monthly reports from my departments head.

My assistant here at work just email me important stuff that I need to look at and Ben comes every day to collect documents that need my signature.

…

The meeting lasted for 3hours, having the client and I agree to disagree until we came to an understanding of the terms of the contract.

I sent Paul my personal assistant home since we are only left with 30 minutes before knockoff and told him to email the minutes of this meeting first thing in the morning.

“Alpha Bruce of the Blood moon pack called again, requesting a meeting with you Alpha. I know what you going to say and yes I did say that you are ‘occupied’ at the moment and I will schedule a meeting for him once your schedule is clear.”

“As always he was persistent that he must have an audience with you” he said shaking his head

“Anything that old man wants to talk about with me it just a myth of the moon goddess stone…he has been obsessed with that for 19 years now. My dad rejected his request to hunt down the carrier of the stone and now he wants me to join him.

That time the old punk wanted to take the throne from me and I am sure the really reason why he wants the stone is for nothing but power” I said and moved my gaze to look outside the window of the car.

“Well… the prophecy did say that ‘the will come the one that is graceful and highly among us all to carry the moon goddess stone.’ It did not say when will that be, and that was written century ago” Ben said looking through his phone

“We should make time to visit the two packs that are at the United Kingdom, especially since Alpha Abraham of the crescent moon pack gave his son the Alpha title last month.” Ben noted down on his pad looking at me for approval

“mmmmh…we should do that!”

“Ben this is the 3rd time rouges were spotted near the board now, did Taylor and the guys catch anyone for interrogation to get some answers from those dirty mutt?” I asked feeling my wolf getting irritated again by the rouges been spotted near our boarders

“They still didn’t catch anyone Alpha. What’s shocking me is that they don’t attack at all it’s like they are just there to watch and report back to their leader, which is absurd because rouge never play by the rules.” He finished his theory and tapped his fingers on the door handle

“What you saying actually make sense…”

After that the rest of the car to the pack was filled with silence, everyone was on their own deep thoughts.

My mind went back to my mate, and the same questions started playing again…where is she? Is she even looking for me? Is she pretty?

I never paid attention to girls in my pack or any way because I made a promise to my mother that I will wait for destined mate. So I always put on stain look whenever a female walked towards me or propose to me.

Rumours even spread about me being gay; I just laughed and ignored them, people will never stop talking.
