We couldn't have hoped for a better induction. Everything went so much better than we expected. There was a moment when I wanted to say something, do something, but Iris held her own, and a big part of me was proud of her. Proud to call her mine. We were in the garden of the Alpha house. It was a lot smaller than the pack-house training grounds, cut off by ten-foot hedges, but it was big enough to train in. Chad sat by us as I went over the moves with Iris. We weren't impressed. In fact, we were worried. It wasn't until now that she learned how to throw a proper punch. It had been hours since we came out here, and the only thing she had was the will to keep going, no matter how many times she failed.
