CIARA The heavy double doors of the dining hall slammed shut behind me. I did not head back to the guest wing. I walked straight down the main corridor toward the front courtyard. Behind me, the dining hall doors burst open again. Hayes came striding down the hallway, his dark officer coat swinging around his legs. His face was pure stone, his golden eyes wide and furious. Killan was two paces behind him, pulling a thick leather belt tight around his waist. "Ciara, stop!" Hayes called out. His voice boomed off the high stone arches. I stopped near the heavy iron doors that led out to the front courtyard and turned around to face him. "I am not hiding, Hayes.
